Blue Jupiter is a powerful pop-jazz-funk a cappella quartet: Marty the beat-boxer, Chris the screaming-high tenor, Jonathan the human orchestra, and Diana- (Blue Jupiter's secret weapon) a broadway singer and voice-over artist. These four voices will set the audience ablaze with their infectious energy, seamless harmony and thunderous vocal percussion. You'll swear they have a back up band... ...they don't.
Over the past 6 years, Blue Jupiter has worked with famed producer and 'American Idol' Judge Randy Jackson, sang with Livingston Taylor and have performed on Oprah and VH1's Save the Music. They’ve headlined many charity events including the American Cancer Society, The Red Cross, Braking the Cycle, Hartford Children's Hospital and have been awarded multiple showcases at NACA (National Association of Campus Activities), including the 2008 National Showcase.
Blue Jupiter continues to expand their international notoriety by headlining at the Sands Casino in Macau, China; performing in Okinawa, Japan; Shanghai, China; Hong Kong, and Thailand; and appearances scheduled in Indonesia, England and Spain in 2008.
While Blue Jupiter is honored the distinction of "Audience Favorite" and the repeat winners of "Best Arrangement" at the Harmony Sweepstakes, they are probably best known as the voices of Oreo Cookie, having won the original “Milk and Cookie Jingle Contest” hosted by Randy Jackson in 2005.
During the school year, Blue Jupiter tours across the country with one of the top arts in education programs for vocal music dubbed “A Cappella University.” It’s a collection of classes, workshops, and public performances that teach audiences about the importance of music education, arts in education, and the history and principles of a cappella music (see additional brochure for full program information.)
But, during the months of November through January, Blue Jupiter turns it up to 11, presenting their holiday show: "Scattered Flurries” across the world. More than a collection of great music, Blue Jupiter brings out all the toys for the tour, incorporating fresh and fun arrangements of classic carols and non-traditional holiday tunes, complete with a holiday-themed set, choreography, and light show.
2008 promises to be one of the biggest years for Blue Jupiter. More international touring, a national NACA Showcase, and two new CDs - one of all original music and the other a holiday follow-up of “Scattered Flurries.”
Be sure to keep watch because Blue Jupiter is on the move.
