My pregnancy wasn't an easy one.
First I was SHOCKED to learn I was pregnant after 5 years of trying! I screamed so loud and called my husband right away. The only thing I was able to say to him was "I peed on a stick, I peed on a stick" that's how I told him...lol
I started bleeding about 2 weeks later. I was on bed rest in the 3rd month. I had to see a high risk doctor every week and had weekly ultrasounds to see if the baby was developing.
I was told by my doctors I would most likely miscarry before week 20. They were surprised that I made it that far, then send me for all kinds of blood work and tests.. basically they didn’t treat me like a real pregnancy because they expected me to miscarry so I didn’t have the blood work that was needed by this point since they didn’t tell me to go! So I had to rush and get more tests and blood work done and THEN the doctors told me I would most likely have a downs baby!
If you are thinking “why didn’t you go to another doctor” I did! But I was too far along and was labeled high risk so I had to stay with the doctors I had.
I stayed on bed rest all summer long but of course more things happened! I ended up with gestational diabetes and got YELLED at by the doctor! The crap I had to put up with from her! I didn’t understand why she was yelling at me. I had no idea what was going on and was doing everything she told me, yet she made me feel like I was the worst mother in the world because I had GD.
The doctor then tells me that my son will mostly likely be still born because of the GD! Man I hated that woman, so glad I don’t have to see her anymore. I got the GD under control and everything was fine.
I had a baby boy on Nov 14 (the day this contest started) He failed his hearing test at the hospital so we have to have him tested again. He also has his right leg turned out that he might need therapy or something to correct it. I think that was the leg that was kicking me all the time! So I massage his leg every day to help it along… I was a massage therapist.
Anyway Halloween was one of the few highlights of my pregnancy. I painted the pumpkin on my belly myself while looking in a mirror. Then had my mom take a bunch of pictures of me just so I could show my son what he ‘went as’ for his first Halloween.
