I wouldn't exacly say I'm a whiz at electronics; I just like playing with them! :) Quite a few times I've taken stuff apart and been like "hmmm, well, I'm not so sure about what the deal it here" and other times it's a breeze. Did they tell you what the problem with the TV was, or did just just give you a price? I suppose the speaker cone could have disintegrated, especially if Coke dripped down into it.. they use that stuff to clean car parts! But if that were the case, you could probably still hear SOME sound coming out. Or the connection between the speaker wire and speaker itself could have even corroded.. depends on where the point of contact was. If the TV is worth it, though, it might be easiest for you to have someone repair it..
