Gorge on Gloss!
Okay, before I go on, I have to admit that this is totally shameless. In addition to working with Brickfish, I launched a beauty brand called Purple Lab. It’s all about double duty beauty (for you multi-tasking mavens!). Our debut product: Huge Lips Skinny Hips, the yummiest lip plumping gloss equipped with Hoodia. That’s right. Hoodia. As in the all-natural extract from a cactus-like plant, indigenous to South Africa and Namibia and known for its appetite suppressing qualities. Now, this is not a weight loss tool! But it meant to be your secret weapon, the thing you whip out before a dinner party to help you stay conscious and mindful so you don’t wind up gorging on the bread! Gorge the gloss instead. It’s also delicious, thanks to fruit extracts (lemon peel oil to cool and orange extract, a natural metabolism booster). The plumping ingredient is Vitamin B3 which is gentle so you don’t get that sting. Pucker up! purplelabnyc.com

| OTT Shoes |
| Ever since platforms became "the thing," shoes have become more and more extreme and I, for one, couldn’t be more and more excited. Nothing like five, six, seven inches under your soles to make your legs look long (walking is so overrated!). For fall, I’m obsessed with the Louis Vuitton pseudo hourglass heel. Oh, and you have to check out Nina Ricci! (Mrs. Willis is wearing them in W Magazine and they are seriously insane. Think Frankenstein with an artistic edge.) Then there is Balmain. I can’t even speak, they’re so good – these mid-calf black boots with hard-core buckles that are part military and part chic and fully $$$! I can go on... There’s Dior’s horn shaped heel, Givenchy’s 100% studed white open-toe sandal, Nicholas Kirkwood’s almost-pelvis high gray platform boots with straps all the way up (done for Rodarte). Of course, this all requires a black card, but it sure is fun to look… and dream. Drool at www.style.com.

| Isaac Attack |
| Isaac Mizrahi had me at “I was obsessed with those daisies” when Unzipped came out about ten years ago. And now that he is designing for Liz Claiborne, re-imaging the classic American design house into something younger, more fresh, and full of life and color, the label is popping. First of all – the ads. More urban than the brand has ever evoked before, the ads – personality-packed, starring women of all ages (think spicy 80 year-old wearing hot pink tights on a city bus) and small glimpses of Isaac in that Hitchcockian way. There are delish knits, sharp jackets, full skirts, and fall’s collection is eye-poppingly yummy and chic at once. OMG! And I didn’t even mention The Fashion Show on BRAVO. Luv! Do check it out! www.lizclaiborne.com |

| Poor Little Rich Girls |
| Have you caught BRAVO’s NY Prep, the reality show about the Upper East Side privileged kids who go to $30,000 a year private schools, own more Chanel than Keira Knightly (and she’s in their ads!), and throw down black cards like Keifer Sutherland head butts on 24. It’s a beautiful train wreck – so gross (I mean, how could their parents allow them to do this?) on one level, almost sad on another (again, how could their parents allow them to do this) and as addictive to watch as Gossip Girl, who, undoubtedly inspired the producers to whip up this show.
