Hey, Wouldn't you like to put a stop to cancer? Vote for my blogs on, "Where I Want to Work" and help fight against cancer. If I win the scholarship I will be using the money to attend medical school. Let me know if you vote for my campaign, and  let me know if you have a campaign.

Thanks,
Ethan
Interests
General
Hey everone. My names Ethan as you might of guessed. I don't talk all the much except with close friends of mine. I play tennis, I like the theater (No not the one you go sit at and watch a movie I mean the real deal the one you go and put on plays and musicals.. lol)

I'm in love with the Harry Potter books. I waited 6 1/2 hours for the last Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

I also love to travel. Someday I would like to go to almost every country so I can learn about all the other diffrent cultures and see how others live day to day.

I don't play any musical insturments but I do love to sing. Even if I'm not that good. (Some of my friends would beg to differ.)I also like to write.

I also like to help others on my mean time. I like to cook, bake, clean and whatever else you can think of to help others out. I will always go the extra mile to get a job done the first time.

So as you can tell I have a lame life. But there is one good thing... There is never a moment I'm not doing something.

Dreams
I would like to become a Pharmacist when I grow up, and also would like to study the making of meds. because I want to come up with a cure to cancer.

I also would like to see teens voices being heard, instead of put down by adults because of their age. I don't agree that adults always have the right mind to make all the solutions to problems, but don't get me wrong. I just think teens should have a voice and should not be scared to let it be heard.

MY HERO

Who is a hero to me? I have been asked this question many times through my life from various people and I couldn't answer their question truthfully till the year of 2003. In the year of 2003 I was in my last year of elementary school at Melrose School. In the year of 2003 my family, and I lost my grandpa, Keith Sasser to lung cancer. After this time I was interviewed in my freshman year at Fremont Middle school about whom my hero was and why he or she was my hero. Of course I said that my grandpa was my hero but then it struck me, why was my grandpa my hero.  I sat in the room for about ten minutes before I responded to this question and I said, "My grandpa is my hero because what a great person he was and helped me become." There are many reasons why my grandpa is my hero. But there are only a few that stood out from the rest that made him such a special person to me and many others that have the gift of knowing him.
The first reason that I saw my grandpa as a hero was because how caring he was to his family, friends, and others that he didn't even know. He always seemed to have a place in his heart for everyone. It didn't matter what the condition he was in at the time, but he always put others before himself. When he was sick with the flu or just didn't feel well I can remember my grandpa never complaining if he received a phone call from a family member or a friend that was in distress and needed help. He was always there for anyone. He was just one of those people that trusted everyone, one of those people that would strike up a conversation with anybody whether he knew them or didn't and at the end of each conversation he always seemed to be able to have the other person bearing a smile on their face no matter the situation they were in, and to this day I can still see his smile burning happiness into that one cloudy day.
Another reason I thought my grandpa as a hero was because how supportive he was. He always seemed to be able to find his way to that one play that everyone else was going to miss, or that one football game that the team lost their first game, or that one award assembly routing you on from the side of the gym. My grandpa was supportive of most dissuasions you could make whether it be big or small he was always there for you and family. It didn't matter the reason behind the decision he was there for you through thick and thin. My grandpa was always there for me and my family supporting us on through the hard times in life, but with him there by our side it seemed hard not to be positive about any mistake or problem.
The biggest reason my grandpa was my a hero to me was because how strong he was mentally and physically. I know most people writing this essay will usually only tell you about physical strength if they mention strength in an essay bust I couldn't leave it at physical because my grandpa was more then physically strong but he was also mentally and emotionally strong as well. As far back as I can remember, I always knew my grandpa to take care of most of the physical work himself in his marriage, but don't get me wrong my grandma also did a lot of physical work. But I remember my grandpa always working in the fields bucking hay, working on the cars when the broke down, cutting wood for the fire during the winter season, and also building structures on his and his wife's property. He also did many things around the house in repairs when needed. Bus as I have already said my grandpa was not only physically strong but also mentally strong may just as strong mentally as physically. I always remembered my grandpa being very strong willed if he put his mind to it h could do anything. I believe he thought the sky was the limit. I know he proved this to all of his family and myself as he fought cancer for three ½ years. When he was fighting cancer, he was given' three weeks to live sometimes and other not even a week but to a miracle to modern medicine and our family he proved that he could outlast the best. I saw my grandpa go through bad and worse times physically and mentally when he had cancer but he always seemed to make it through just fine. He seemed to be winning the fight of cancer for sometime and then he would go on a downward spiral but then he would always find himself fighting his way back to health, but in the last few months he didn't. As my grandpa fought cancer, I saw him cry not for himself but for the ones around him for what was happening to them because of the cancer, I also remember the last day in which he was living he couldn't speak or even get out of the hospital bed in his house but he still had a wide smile on his face.
So who is a hero to me? A hero to me is more then someone with super strength or supernatural power but someone who is always there by your side helping you through life no matter the difficulties and obstacles it throws at you. This is why my grandpa is my hero because even know he didn't have powers from the movies or super strength, he had a heart that was three times too big. So with that I will leave you with my option of a hero now let me ask you, who is your hero?

In Memory of Keith Sasser

March 4, 1929 - June 5, 2003

You were always there when we needed you,
No task to great or small.
With a loving heart and willing hand,
For us you did them all.
Thanks for the years you gave us,
And the times we shared.
We only prayed that when you left us,
You knew how much we cared.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
He put his arms around you and said,
"Come unto me."
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So God gave you a rest.
His Garden must be beautiful,
For he only takes the best.
