For many years, large stretches of ocean bottom in California's coast were damaged by commercial fisherman trawling for rockfish. In response, The Nature Conservancy worked with fisherman to take the unprecedented step of buying out the trawlers, along with the permits that allow them to operate. In exchange for the buyout, the fishermen endorsed a federal ban on bottom trawling in 3.8 million acres of ocean stretching from Santa Barbara County in the south to Monterey County in the north. This landmark achievment will give marine ecosystems the chance to regenerate on their own, ensuring a healthy future for imperiled marine communities.

Though I'm sure it's not the most unique choice I could have made, but the woman I love more than any other wiman that has or will exist is, of course, my Mom.

Debra Jean Epperson (she hates it when I call her that! lol) is the most amzing woman on the planet!

No, she hasn't come up with a cure for cancer. No, she hasn't invented so new, smaller electrical device.  My Mom has been married to my father for 18yrs, has two beautiful children, and she hasn't lost her mind, yet!

She loves every on e of us, whole heartidly, even while putting up with her mom moving back in with us.  She loves me! And as anyone who know me can attest to, that isn't always an easy thing to do. Love is never easy.

It has not been the good times that have tested my Mom's love and devotion. It has been when my father's depression threatened to end his life and she took care of and supported all of us by herself while he got better! When my brother has gotten injured and needed to go to the hospital, who's fees we could not afford, but she didn't hesitate to take him anyways! It's when I once said the most hurtful thing I could have said to her and still gave me a hug, telling me she loved me regardless!

Now to some these may seem too common, too everyday. I do not know some famous celeberty that I can write about, but even if I did, no matter who the celebrity was, I would still have wrote the same blog. And I would still consider my Mom the most important woman in the whole of existence! My Mom's ability to love me despite my failings is one of the billions of reasons she was and always will be the only woman I could have possibly written this campaign entry about!

P.S. And if I win I will be taking the best friend I have ever had on the trip with me, my Mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a poem I wrote only a few moments ago. It is inspired by a mix between my two friends and my past experiences.  You know those people who say that everyone has lived through some kind of hard times or tragedy, they are so right! Well here's a mix of our tragedies. Let me know if you like the poem or whatever. I'd love to hear anyones opinion! Enjoy.

I am me, get over it
You want to break me, just try
I can be weak, and sometimes I like to cry
But I hate you, how dare you ask why
You betrayed me, twice
You took my trust, and lost like a kite
A kite in an emotional worldwind
One I still haven't escaped
It wasn't rape of the body, but of the mind
I trusted you, jerk, and all you did was lie
Why do ask to talk to me on the phone
I always hang up
Why do come to me for forgivness
I just spit in your eye
I spit at you my words, my hate, my fear
I like to throw in a little saliva for good messure, too
I hate you, just except it, it's all because of you
Die you monster, roast up to your eyes in hells burning flames
When you die I'll frame your death certificate,
And hang it on my wall, I'm gonna be proud
I'm proud that I'm gonna out live you
I glad I'll see you die
And you can see what you've done to me
You can see how you've killed my insides
Die you monster, get it over with
I've already made room on my wall
Just get on with it
You tried to break me, but you lost
I may not be the same but I'm still here
You wanna break me
Just try, I dare you
You'll lose, I know, just like everyone else before
Good luck dude!

On April 4, 1968 at 7:00pm Martin Luther King Jr. was pronouced dead in a Memphis hospital.  King's assasination was an assault on the American people!  On this night the world lost one of the most influential men of Americcan history.  A  man whose legacy is likened to those of President John F. Kennedy and Mother Teresa.  Martin Luther King  Jr. has served as an icon for millions, and will continue to do so for generastions to come. King's words of the ideal, words of peace and justice, where heard around the world.  The echo that to this day has yet to cease. Martin Luther King Jr.'s amazing efforts towards his, and our, dreams of racial equality an attainable reality.  And one very joyious day those extrodanary words "I have a dream . . ."  will ring true through the ears of this nation as well as around the world.  Martin Luther King Jr. is  "THE" Africa American icon!

The Pain Tree

Can you feel it?
It hurts so bad!
You can't?
What's wrong with you?
How come you can't feel it?
I don't believe you!
What do you feel?
Nothing!
Nopain?
Just nothing, huh?
Wel, let me tell you,
You're missin' out.
It's wonderful.

Imaginary

I linger in the doorway/
my alarm clock screaming/
monsters calling my name/
let me stay/
where the wind will whisper to me/
where the raindrops/
as they're falling tell a story/

in my field of paper flowers/
and candy clouds of lullaby/
I lie inside myself for hours/
and watch my purple sky fly over me/

don't say I'm out of touch/
with this rampant chaos - your reality/
I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge/
and by fair I've built my our world to escape/

in my field of paper flowers/
and candy clouds of lullaby/
i lie inside myself for hours/
and watch my purple sky fly over me/

swallowed up in the sound of my screaming/
cannot cease for the fear of silent nights/
oh how i long for the deep sleep dreaming/
and the goddess of imaginary light

Hello I am Alice

A simple entry that is true. It's not my birthname or my nickname or anything like that.  It is my true name. The one I choose for myself to own and be proud of.  It is the true me that i wish for everyone to see. Rather than the illusions that the world would have me post or lies they wish me to speak. I am Alice! That is it. Thank you for bothering to read this.
