We want to thank all of the people that have participated so far in our campaign and tell you that the artwork that has come in so far is amazing and though we are only 10 days into the competition it is already very difficult to choose any all out favorites.  There are several favorites in our minds right now and am sure the further this goes the more this will be the case.  The one thing that comes accross are the submissions that use original artwork and are creative in how they want to get their ideas accross.  We will have new music released soon and this will further illustrate the diversity of SToB music which holds true to the credo of no rules or boundries.  Currently we have a song as organic sounding as Crippled so hard and that is contrasted with the electronic influences of Into Nothing and so on and so forth which is why we are happy that the artwork that has come in (especially the more recent ones) are reflecting that diversity and rebellion against status quo thinking and conformity.

Though it's not readily apparent in my music, I listen to a lot of 60's music like Hendrix, Pink Floyd and 70s music like Led Zeppelin and ELO in the 80's I like a lot of the early electronic stuff like New Order and so forth and metal like Metallica while in the 90's it's NIN and Soundgarden among others...But if you think back to all the great artwork that goes with the music of those times and bands, the one thing that binds them all together is the creativity behind the images and that is exactly what we want to see in our designs.  We are a band on the way up and there are many exciting things happening right now with SToB, this music will soon have the backing to reach the mainstream and your artwork (winners) will come up with us.  I like doing things in an unortodox way, that is why Brickfish is so cool, it presents the opportunity for independent ideas and thoughts to take hold and shape the conciousness of the public so that what is seen and heard is not all in the hands of the large corporations but in the hands of the artists.

This picture is of autographed handwritten lyrics that are a part of the prize list for the Brickfish/Shaolin Temple of BooM contest......(there is nothing wrong with this picture I always write my lyrics in reverse...easily read in a mirror)

Brickfish and Shaolin Temple of BooM are on a quest to find the hottest, up and coming artist out there to design the new Shaolin Temple of BooM T-shirt!

If you are unfamiliar with Brickfish

The contest will start on January the 10th and end on Febuary 28th, 2007!

We are looking for the most original, aesthetic and eye catching design to compliment the music of the BooM.

Your design should be inspired by the music, it should be how you visually intrepret the music you hear and the movement you see....

"Though the name means "Kung fu of music" I would wish that the designs stay away from kung fu or Shaolin Temple references, that's toooo easy!

I would rather that the artists create images that go more with how he or she interprets the music as opposed to the name"

-David (Shaolin Temple of BooM)

Your design will be featured on Shaolin Temple of BooM's website and be produced on a mass scale for an up and coming unsigned band getting ready to explode in 2007!

All submissions should be sent through the now under construction Brickfish/StoB website which will go live January the 10th but I'm giving you guys advanced notice so you can start your work and get a head start before the rest!

You just have to wait till the 10th to submit it to the url I will provide when it is up and running!
