I am in school to become a social worker because I care about helping people. I see the job as a social worker as one that will never end because there is so much pain in this world. The pain is often inficted by other but not always sometimes it is caused by disease or natural disaters. My wish is that my job as a social worker would become extint and that the pain we feel as individuals would not be so intence and hurtful. Added to this social workers link and support those in need of basic neccesitys, now I know this society has enormous welth I also wish that that welth would be spread more equaly so that we could live without having to wonder about where the necesitys are going to come from.

my hero is my grandmother, she fought all her life to be a good christian woman. She showed me a posative way to live when my world was surrounded by chaos and pain. If I ever felt hurt she had a special way of making me feel better. Her home was always open to me and my 5 sisters, she devoted her life to her 3 boys and 6 grandchildren.
She stayed with my grandfather as he fought in World War II
She was suffering from Altziemers at the time this photo was taken, bu it did not stop her from showing her love for her first great grandchild
Ina Marie Lewis Hewes gave her all for each of the people below. She was truly a beautiful representative of how to live life peacfully. She always gave to the family but also to society. Chldren whould come to her for comfort and adults would come to her for insight and love.
This is the last photo taken before my grandmother passed away from Alziemers. She is smiling and happy just as I always will remember her.
My grandmother taught me how to enjoy the surprizes of life and to live life the best I could. We surprised her quite offten and it is these beautiful moments that I hold in my heart.
She grew up and over came the deppression, she accepted my mom and dads interracial marrage during a time that things like that were not seen as appropriate. Every day I spent time with her I felt safe and secure. She has done alot for me and my proffesional growth. I am who I am today because of her influence. I have learned to give unto others because she gave unto me even when I di dnot deserve it. She is a true hero in the sence because she effected everybodies lifes that ever met her. She gave of herself in so many ways so that thi sworld would be a better place for so many.
To all my peeps

This is my grandmother when she was young and full of life, her life was dedicated to her family, friends, and helping others around her. She was a true christian whom loved all and would give anything to see those she cared about happy. Growing up in my family was hard, we went through a lot but my grandmother was always a safe person to run to when I was hurting. She could turn even the worst pain into happiness whith her beutiful smile and gentle words.
My gradmother dedicated her life to others, she went on missions to provide necesities to those whom had nothing, she gave her last bit of money to her 4 grand kids so e could get a treat at the 7-11 across the street. She was the only solid trustworthy person I had during a time of extreame turmoil.
she married my grandfather and was truly devoted to him even though she spent long periods away from him because he was in the army during WWII. She raised three sons who all turned out wonderfully and successfull. I admire her for her pride she had for herself, her family, and the world around her. She taought me more than I could have ever repayed her in amillion life times.
My favorite past time is just sitting with this beutiful woman and talking, she would break out in song, song that still echos in my head. When I was younger she would sing these songs as she rocked my to sleep. Never once did my grandmother get angry or raise her beutiful voice with me or my 4 sister. She resembles the true essance of patients and love.
My Grandmothers was dealt a hard blow in 1999 however shows how life is realy unfair. She was diagnosed with Alziemers. It was painful to see all of the spunk, energy, and pride so quickly be drawn from her. When she ended up in the nursing home she was not treated like she deserved, they broke her color bone and would not treat it correctly. They would not give her proper pain medication , they left her there in pain to die. My grandmother however I know without a doubt would have forgiven them for this because that was who she was. I know even though she could not remember my name she knew me in her soul just as I will always remember her in my heart.
My grandmother sadly missed the birth of her 6th gragrandchild and many great grandchild whom I know she would have just loved. Children were here life, she had a special way with them. A few months before her death she did get the chance to hold her first born grand child which was such a precious and memorable moment. One we all will take with us forever.
I still find great inspiration everday in her memory, I know she is still with me in spirit and although I wish more than anything I could have her here physically, I have to be thankful for the wonderful 20 years I had to spend with the glorious woman who impacted my life in such ways that words could not even explain
Her favorite words were I love this Baby I just do!
Thanks for inspiring me to be more than I ever thought I could be
God be with you till we meet again
