To everyone who’s about to read this entry:

I’m Flor Gerstein; I’m a Christian, 19 year old girl. I live in Lima Peru and am willing to go to University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. I wrote a blog a long time ago for a scholarship too. I didn’t get it. Time is going by and I really want to study abroad. Once someone told me that there is nothing impossible and the only thing that can stop me from getting what I want is me, myself, I and God. So I’m trying really hard to get enough money to go to college and fulfil my dream if it’s God’s will. I would really appreciate it if all of you could help me because whether I win this contest or not, I’ll still need your help and encouragement. So please keep me in your prayers and if you find another way to help me feel free to tell me. Much love and enjoy my blog.

One of the books that have had a great impact in my life is the Bible. Ever since I first read it, I could see that it is full of love expressions, encouragement and an everlasting truth. No matter how many times I read it, it would always tell me something new and exactly what I needed to hear.

I said expressions of love because I can see through all the stories written in there that God loves me and gave his only son to die on the cross for my sins. I would always find phrases like: "dear children", “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” “so do not fear, for I’m with you…I will strengthen you and help you” All those words would always help go on, even in the worse times of my life.

I don’t think it’s just another book on the bookshelf, it is life in itself. Everyone can find the answers for the many questions we have in mind. I’m not saying that we will find the answers we want to find, the ones that we want to listen to, but the answers that we need. I do not really know if this blog will help me get the scholarship (which I really need for college) but I’m glad I can share what are the things that have had a great impact in my life. This book is really my favourite and one of the best I have ever read. There are so many things expressed in all the words written on the pages of a Bible that anyone who reads it will definitely find something encouraging, something of truth or something of love. And though I have not read it all, I know a great adventure is waiting for me on the following pages I am about to read.

No puedo olvidar los dias en que estabas junto a mi, esas risas y alegrias que soliamos vivir...no era algo superficial, lo nuestro era algo real. Otra vez quiero escuchar,de tus labios pronunciar: "yo quieres junto a mi, no dejes de sonreir."

I`ve been a member of this church since i was a baby. Now i want to go to Moody bible Institute for college and become a missionary and work for the ADIEL. I know Adiel needs help with mission trips and church planting. I know i would be very helpful because they need english interpreters. Also they know me and know that I want to serve God in all the ways i can but i cant pay for my studies, so thats why i need you to support me.I traveled in their second missiontrip to tarma. The first one was to canta (peru) but i was too young and i couldnt go. Tarma was a wonderful experience. I did not want to come back to Lima beacuse Tarma people were sooo kind and there was so much need but i knew my time there was over.I did just what God wanted me to do. So we came back. Here are some pictures of our precious time in Tarma-Peru:

I got to meet wonderful people. I could see that people is begging for just a little bit of love. They want to be loved and i know what they need is JesusChrist.
All the people from Tarma was very kind and warm to us. I loved getting to know them.

I want to work with the Adiel team because i know it is a non-profit association. It would be a great opportunity for me to talk about God`s love to others and at the same time help people in need with my career. I think Helping others is the most rewarding thing anyone could ever do. El Buen Pastor Church`s heart is always willing to serve,Honor and praise God with what they do and i love that.

There is a lot of poor people in Lima. The church they are planting right now is called "Esperanza viva"(Living Hope). Jim Panaggio, a pastor-missionary from the US; Luis and Carmen Duarte, Peruvian pastor and wife, are in charge of this church. I help there with the kids sunday school. Also every time missionaries come over to help poor people and share God`s word with them.

For example, last february a group of 24 people from Wisconsin, most of them doctors and nurses, went to condevilla and had a free clinic there. They had small surgeries and took care of like 1.500 people. I was there, translating. My english is not as good as i wish it were, and medical terms arent that easy to understand, but i did what i could. I know many people was touched by what the doctors were doing. They couldnt believe that a bunch of extrangers decided to come to Peru, Leaving their familiy and comfort, to help them just because. I know they were touched by God`s word too. So that was pretty much exciting!

Now i think you got my point on why i want to work there. So, please vote for me!!!!!.....;P
