ScholarshipPoints.com Pros and Cons....
http://www.scholarshippoints.com/
PRO
You can join when you're in middle school, so you can rack up a bunch of points before even needing to "spend" them, increasing your chances of winning a scholarship.
CON
Some people on the site have probably been on it since middle school, and have 200,000 points in the drawing that you put 50 in for.
PRO
You can get points every day just for logging in.
CON
Some of the things you can do to earn points lead to spamming and telemarketing. ZoomPanel, for example, gives me about two e-mails every day. It's not technically spam because I'm signed up for it, but it's still annoying.
PRO
There are multiple chances to win a scholarship every month. There is even an opportunity to win a $10,000 scholarship! They are all based on "spending" the points you've earned (kind of like entering a raffle) for a chance to win a scholarship.
CON
Because the drawing is set up like a raffle, you might NEVER win a scholarship, no matter how many points you earn.
PRO
You have to log-in after the drawing to see if you're on the winner's page. If you are, you just e-mail them and let them know. If you log-in regularly, that puts you at an advantage, because if a winner doesn't log-in after three days, they do another drawing to choose another winner, and that could be you!!
CON
You have to log-in after the drawing to see if you're a winner. If you don't log in within three days of the drawing and you're a winner, you will forfeit the scholarship money.
PRO
In addition to some of the more promo-ish opportunities on the site, ScholarshipPoints.com also offers advice about financial aid and has some fun ways to earn points.
PRO
Winning may not be guaranteed, but it's FREE and it doesn't hurt to try! If you want a chance at winning a scholarship, sign up and check it out... just be careful about what additional offers you sign up for.
VERDICT:
I’m PRO-ScholarshipPoints.com. In my opinion, it doesn’t hurt to try… just don’t put all your financial aid eggs in this basket. Continue to look in other places for scholarships, including ones that aren’t determined by chance, which this one is.
