My Favorite Necklace I wear my necklace that has Nefertiti and Our Lady of Guadalupe on always. It is one accessory that I do not leave home without. I can’t function if I don’t have it on. The charms were given to me at birth from both my grandmothers that I treasure dearly. Nefertiti, because she represents my African-American heritage and Our Lady of Guadalupe because of my Spanish heritage. The names, according to Wikipedia roughly translates Nefertiti to "the beautiful (or perfect) one has arrived", and Our Lady of Guadalupe is known in Spanish as "La Virgen Morena", which means "The brown-skinned virgin". I think my grandmothers really love me!!
