I know that it sounds like a know brainer but everyone needs to share the love and not the germs. One of the things that I notice that has been said over and over is to not cough into you hand. When you cough into your hand you may touch a lot of door handles or people and those germs stick around for a while. It doesn't affect completely healthy people as badly as it would people who are more susseptible to getting sick. There are post transplant paients, cancer paients and older people running around with low immune systems and these germs tend to find them.
Also it sounds gross but preach the word of washing your hands. On my campus they started a program to make people aware that every 1 in 5 people may not be washing there hands. I don't have to tell you what will be happening between these hand shakes.
Other that those to tips just be careful and make common sense choices.
