For me, health is very important. I am sort of a clean freak, and often times stress about bacteria and such. I am very particular about being safe when it comes to STD's. Now you may or may not know the many ways to get them. The sad thing is most people my age dont worry about this. As a teenager it is our nature to believe we are invinsable. I will get tested at least once a year, to be safe. I also try to talk to my friends about being tested but they see it as, I feel fine and everything looks fine, I dont have anything. When in all actuality, it could take months for something to show up, or it might never. This does not mean you are clean! STD's are a very serious issue and should not be taken lightly. This is a very scary matter. There was a health center out of Nevada that over the last year was reusing siringes and infected up to 40,000 patients with HIV and Hepatitus, both very serious diseases. Most people dont know just how easy it is to come across somthing like this and not even know it. Everyday we incounter people with these diseases and may not even know it. Who is to say that person even knows they have an STD??? This information is not really anything someone specific as told me. I kind of picked up this scare on my own, and through movies such as Girl Positive, and Kids. I would strongly suggest to anyone to watch both of these movies. Yes I know it is just a movie, but they will really open your eyes and show you that things really can happen to you. Please be safe and smart, keep you body healthy, you only get one!

Hey Brenna, I loved your entry! You are so right in your statements about details. I think all people - especially young people today - need to be educated about all areas of their health, including STDs. Most young people are already sexually active, unfortunately, and if they're not abstinent, they should at least learn and practice safe sex. Good entry!
