I was looking for ways to make money from home and i didn't want anything that i had to buy or pay and i found a great opportunity or so i though at the time at craigslist. It was simple, the lady lived overseas or so she said and she needed someone to take checks, bank them and turn them into money orders that can be cashed overseas and i was young and gullible so i believed her and accepted the job and received the first check and asked my mom to bank it since i didn't have a bank account. She did as asked and went and banked it and when i arrived home, she told me the bad news. The check was a scam, i sent an e-mail to my contact and explained what happened and she didn't reply. My mom and i had to go file a report at the police station because if we didn't report it and it happened again, they would wonder why we didn't report it the first time. We met and talked with the officer and i showed him the e-mails we sent each other and he explained the scam. Lucky for us was that my mother's bank caught the scam check before we could cash it. That was my brush with internet fraud and since then, i've seen those scams again but i have never tried to again.
