Hello, my name is Oxana.

I believe I have a very good idea for you.
There is so much make up on a market that I sometimes wonder…what has not been already done?
I believe we should concentrate on something completely different besides just selling lipsticks and powders. How about giving your customers actual knowledge about the colors and application techniques? You could show them a real connection between make up, fashion, and the hair industry.
Have you ever wondered just how many people know how to effectively apply makeup or mix colors for eye shadow application?
Colors can be very complex unless you comprehend “the low of color”.
Truth be told, the average person knows very little about color and how to use it to their advantage.
Have you ever noticed that red heads with blue eyes look striking?
It’s primarily because in the color spectrum, orange is the opposite of blue. When mixed, these two colors turn into a neutral shade. However, by putting them next to each other they actually complement each other.
Ever noticed how remarkable violet and gold eye shadows look next to each other? Why, because they are also on opposites in the color wheel.

My first proposal is to create a palette of eye shadows that would include all complimentary colors to achieve the most beautiful result, so women don’t have to spend so much time on trying to put together all individual containers of shadows.
I’d like to call this line a “Makeup artist collection”
It would include three palettes of complimentary colors.
Each palette would consist of 6 shadows with one fine glitter box that can go over any color for some sparkle.
One will include gold’s, greens, and coppers.
The second one includes warm and cool tones of blues, silvers, pink, and burgundies.
The third and final palette would consist of light and dark shades of natural colors.
Here is the significant part…each palette will include a small folder of a diagram with an eye shadow application technique, including each color in the palette.
I believe this tool would be very helpful knowledge how to do shadow application, which usually is the hardest.

This paper folder will be safe under the palette just like shown on the example of this compact powder.

Each paper folder can have different eye shadows application techniques from natural, to classic, to smoky eyes.
The point of this is that we are not just selling product, we would be educating and helping women to look their best.
By showing that you care, you can really stand out in the makeup and beauty industries.
Another way to create a palette is to follow what is currently hot in the fashion and hair industries.   For example everybody’s known “Wella” (hair color and product brand) every year comes up with four deferent trends. Each includes certain hair colors, cuts, styles, clothing, fabrics, and makeup. Maybe you can even partner with “Wella”, and create a “Trend Vision Makeup Artist Collection”.
Maybe you can call each of four palettes the same as they call their four trends.
2008 trends are as follows
The first trend for 2008 year is “Wonderland”
The hair colors are golden blond, natural browns, and organic coppers. Style is with a lot of volume and waives. This collection is for people who love nature, who doesn’t afraid to take risks, and love adventure. Fashion is silk fabrics with nature colors. Your idea is to create a palette that will compliment this trend. Maybe use some soft golden-copper eye shadows with beige and browns.
Second trend is “Mineral Splendour”

It’s like a precious stone that is rear and voluble. The hair color varies from worm like Garnets and Ambers to cool like Agates. The palette would include worm and cool tons of colors.
Third is “Industrial Beauty”

A new urban beauty arises from the Dark era of machinery. The hair colors are cool like gray, silver, and black. The color palette will include some shades for smoky eyes, black with shimmer with green and blue shade of iridescent reflection.
Lost on is “Couture Allure”

In this trend, hair color range from velvet violet and cherry reds to blacks. This trend expresses artistic individuality. It is full of assertive style and charisma. No one can take an eye of her; she looks like no one else.
Here you create another palette that would compliment this trend.
I believe this is great idea to connect with other aspects of beauty like fashion and hair industry.
I’m looking forward to participating in this year’s Trend Vision Award competition. I would have to come up with a makeup look for a model that will compliment my hair color work. That‘s how this idea was born.
I thought how cool it is when a woman gets her hair color from one of these trends and now she has a makeup collection that compliments her style, plus she has a visual application technique folder that comes with it.
It can be the other way around, when a woman sees this interesting palette with a trend vision name on it, soon she find out that it is a hair collection as well and now she wants her hair done in a same way.
All I want to say is, it is not too hard to make lipsticks or shadows or mascaras, the hard part is to be deferent, to be able to tell a story, to educate your customers about makeup, colors, and techniques. You can be one of a kind brand that would carry a line like “Makeup Artist Collection” or “Trend Vision Makeup Artist Collection” that would not only make any women knowledgeable in makeup but will also transforms her into makeup artist.
P.S. Thank you very much Sephora and “Make up Forever” for choosing my entry as your favorite in the “Lash Pimpin” contest. I will see you in Paris!!!
