When I was younger, my mother decided to use my father's debit card to his bank account online. The internet was relatively a new thing to my parents & to me back then. We had never heard of anyone using the internet to steal your identity or card number. Unfortunately, either the computer my mom used or the website where she bought some items did not have the necessary security measures in place. As a result, this person who stole the card number used almost all of my fathers money in his bank account before anything was noticed. And my parents were worried about it affecting their credit report. The money was replaced after an investigation by the bank, but the perpetrator was never caught. It was an unfortunate incident and even to this day, my mother is scared to use a card to purchase anything online. I can't say I blame her though.
