INT. SCREENING ROOM, MOVIE THEATER

HOLYFIRE arrives at a special movie theater
she has never been to before. She SITS down
and is amazed to see an organ player actually
PLAYING music by the stage for the AUDIENCE.
Oversized red drapes stretch out in front of
the screen, creating a special recreated
Loew's theater appearance. The drapes move
ASIDE, tassels DANCING, the chair RECLINES
BACK, and HolyFire is spiritually invited to
              the movie screen.

                                                       CUT TO:

         INT. BEDROOM, MASSACHUSETTS

HolyFire SITS in front of a computer
screen and types a blog, in script
format, for a BrickFish contest during
              her vacation.

                               HOLYFIRE
                       I'm HolyFire here on
                       BrickFish and I have a
                       respectable passion for
                       the Film Industry.

                               BRICKFISHERS
                            (shouts)
                       What on earth makes you
                       so different from people
                       who dream of being rich
                       and famous?

                               HOLYFIRE
                       I don't dream of being
                       rich and famous. I dream
                       of doing something I
                       believe God wants me to
                       do. I dream of working
                       behind the camera, not
                       getting jiggy with it at
                       a V.I.P. party.

                               BRICKFISHERS
Ha! They all say that and
what do you wanna do huh,
                       direct? I bet you just
                       want to boss people around
                       and drink free coffee.

                               HOLYFIRE
                       Actually, I have a
                       tremendous passion for
                       screenwriting.
                            (smiling)
                       I absolutely love it and
                            (confused)
                       I don't drink coffee.

                               BRICKFISHERS
Yeah, I know what you mean.
I have a huge dream of
                       being a famous singer and
                       dating Zac Efron.

                               HOLYFIRE
                            (afraid and leans back)
                       Okay.

                               BRICKFISHERS
                       So, why screenwriting?
                       That's so random.

                               HOLYFIRE
Well, I love it. Ever since
I was a little girl and
                       watched my first scary movie,
                       I wanted to know what
                       happened behind the scenes.
For me it was The Sixth Sense
                       written and directed by
                       M. Night Shyamalan.

                               BRICKFISHERS
Oh my gah! That little boy
                       was so cute.

                               HOLYFIRE
                       I didn't watch it because
Haley Joel Osment was in it.
                       I actually wasn't allowed to
watch scary films, but I did
anyway in a very nice movie
                       theater. My parents were
                       surprised that I didn't get
                       scared. Instead, I became
                       fascinated with storytelling.
I was amazed by the cleverness
                       of twists, advertisements,
                       and symbolic metaphores used
by Shyamalan in the film. For
                       the first time I understood
that there were more to movies
                       than just the popular actors
                       that appeared on the screen.

                               BRICKFISHERS
So, what are you doing now
                       to become a screenwriter and
                            (raises eyebrows)
                       what does it pay?

                               HOLYFIRE
                       I'm currently a Media Arts
                       Major. I've studied films
                       and audio production. I
                       have experience on the field
                       as a director, in the
                       production room as a
                       technical director, on
                       the floor as a camera
                       operator and in the
                       editing room. I love it.
                       I've also taken two creative
                       writing classes and a
                       screenwriting class.
In high school, I wrote for
                       the schools' news paper.
I was also blessed, when I
                       was fourteen, with a full
                       scholarship to attend the
                       Summer Science and
                       Engineering program at Smith
                       college to take a course
                       titled Writing as Experiment
                       and Exploration. It was
like a dream summer camp. The
                       experience was amazingly
                       inspirational.

                              BRICKFISHERS
                       Yeah, yeah, but what about
                       the pay?

                              HOLYFIRE
                       Brickfishers, completing
Gods purpous for my life is
                       success enough. I've found
a passion and I'm doing it
                       right now even though I'm
                       poor.

                              BRICKFISHERS
                       I don't know.

                              HOLYFIRE
                       Look, right now as I'm
                       writing this I'm on vacation.

                              BRICKFISHERS
                       You're a freakazoid!

                              HOLYFIRE
                       You're random!

                              BRICKFISHERS
                       Sorry, I just took a
                       Flinstone vitamen. So, any
                       special memories?

                              HOLYFIRE
                          (shaking)
                       Ummm, well when I was
                       sixteen I co-wrote
                       a documentary titled
                       Healthy Eating. I was
                       blessed with the
                       opportunity to direct it
and it aired on the local
                       channel where I live.

                              BRICKFISHERS
                       I acted beside Johnny Depp
                       once. Yeah, he loves me.
                       Are you making any movies
                       or writing scripts? I can
                       act!

                              HOLYFIRE
                       I've made a few short
                       movies with relatives.
One was The Dead Rose about
                       a cheerleader who gets
                       murdered and haunts a
                       high school.

                              BRICKFISHERS
                       What about on your own?

                              HOLYFIRE
I made a short silent haiku
                       movie titled Soko. It was
a video noir about a youth
                       tortured by demons. They
                       basically set obsticales
                       before her and tempt her
to sin. In order to fight
                       back with the enemy, she
                       must reach a deep spiritual
level, to get closer to God.
                       It's a video that I wanted
                       to engage the audience in
                       a way that they could
                       actually just picture
                       their own personal battles
on screen. I got an A on it.

                              BRICKFISHERS
I think I just saw Mrs. Poe.
                       Anything less gloomy?

                              HOLYFIRE
                       Sure, I pitched and later
                       co-directed Perfect Timing.
                       It's about a convict who
tries to steal a bag of
                       money. Everything goes well
                       until a different convict
                       purposely sets off an
                       alarm. Let's just say, one
guy gets rich and the other
                       goes to prison. Perfect Timing
                       was very suspenseful.
                       I loved the reaction from
                       the viewers in class.

                               BRICKFISHERS
                       Are you working on any
                       scripts now?

                               HOLYFIRE
                       Actually, I am. I'm
                       currently writing a feature
                       length script titled
                       Serial Sleeper City. I'm
                       sorry. I can't provide the
                       synopsis mainly cuz it's
                       not copyrighted  yet. I
                       will say, however, that this
                       particular script is
                       leaning towards generation-y
                       and x audiences. It's a
                       little rough with the violence
                       aspect, but it still has
faith elements to it. I wrote
act one of it for a
                       screenwriting class and
                       received an A on it.
                       I was so happy.
                       I remember being terrified
to look at the grade. I was
                       afraid of reading notes by
                       my screenwriting professor.
                       I didn't want to have a
dream and be told by a
                       professional I have no
                       future in this. I didn't
                       want to get broken,
                       but I overcame my fears,
                       looked at my script,
                       saw the A, smiled,
                       almost cried, and began
                       to thank Jesus.

                               BRICKFISHERS
                       Awww. Now just out of
                       curiosity, how long is a
                       feature length script?

                               HOLYFIRE
                       At least ninety pages.

                               BRISKFISHERS
                       Holy chicken! That's a lot
                       o' pages.

                               HOYLFIRE
                       Hey, when you find
                       something you love to do
                       you'll never work a day
                       in your life.

                               BRICKFISHERS
                       You quoted Harvey Mackay.

                               HOLYFIRE
That man knew what he was
                       talkin' about.

                               BRICKFISHERS
                       Any future plans?

                               HOLYFIRE
                       I hope to begin interning
                       either this January or June.
                       If anyone in the film
                       industry is reading this,
                            (giggles)
                       please contact me with
                       internship opportunities.
My mom and I are also
                       seeking paid work, so that
I could have my dream of
                       being able to attend the
                       film program in UCLA. We're
                       going through a very rough
                       time right now. Maybe some
day I'll be able to afford
to attend the New York Film
                       Academy. I have faith that
                       God will open doors.

                               BRICKFISHERS
                       So, getting back to your
                       scripts. What kinds of
                       films are you interested
                       in writing?

                               HOLYFIRE
                       I'm into Christian films.
I want to spread the Gospel
through movies in a way that
                       everyone could watch them.
That being said, I think my
                       style is leaning toward
                       modern day, contemporary,
                       Christian films. I'm into
                       writing for the sole
                       purpose of communicating
                       messages. For me, it's
                       writing scripts that have
                       to do with real life
                       problems. Being a youth,
                       myself, exposing teenage
                       and young adult problems
                       along with the strengths
                       of Gen-Y is important to
me. I know how it's like
to be a youth now and I'm
                       taking advantage of that.
I think a little bit of
                       my experiences somehow
                       get embedded into my
                       scripts. I think as a
                       screenwriter, that's
                       important. You must have
                       your own signature. You
                       must be able to bring
                       something to a script that,
                       even though it's a love
                       story or action film, the
                       audience will still be
                       able to tell your script
                       apart from another writer
                       without looking at the
                       credits.

                              BRICKFISHEERS
                       So, you're into dramas?

                              HOLYFIRE
                       Drama, action, maybe epic.
I hope to write a romantic
comedy one day. My mom likes
                       romantic comedies. It's also
a dream of mine to write
                       family films.

                              BRICKFISHERS
                       Ooo, I do too. Besides
                       storytelling, have you
                       developed a writing style
                       yet?

                              HOLYFIRE
                       Wow, I'm still learning as
I go along. I have been
                       influenced by German
                       expressionism and film nior.
                           (giggles)
                       Who hasn't, right?
                       Films like The Cabinet of
                       Dr. Caligari and film nior
                       like Double Indemnity pretty
                       much sucked me into it.
Most of all, however, I have
                       this somewhat Indian writing
                       system going on with my
                       scripts. There can be some
                       violence and pregnant women,
                       but you will never actually
hear cursing or see a sex
                       scene. I think the public
                       would be shocked.

                               BRICKFISHERS
Wow, you can't even watch a
                       movie trailer on television
                       without seeing someone making
                       out.

                               HOLYFIRE
                       Yeah, it's gotten pretty
                       bad. Your children can't
                       even watch commercials anymore.
I refuse to believe the only
way to sell a movie is
                       through a sex scene. I
                       believe some filmmakers have
just gotten out of hand with
                       the issue. I believe viewers
go to the movies to watch
                       films that consist of great
                       stories, well showed. I want
to have complete faith in my
writing and not rely on a
porn scene to produce a great
                       script.

                               BRICKFISHERS
How do you go on about your
                       day with a screenwriter
                       mentality? You must have
                       to do mind exercises or
                       something to stay creative.

                               HOLYFIRE
Oh my. Every day I come up
                       with ideas for films. When
                       my parents drive me around,
                       I always get lost in
                       meditation. I just sit in
                       the back, look out the
                       window, and randomly
                       think of scenes that could
be shot at the locations I see.
                       I write dialogue on napkins.
I observe way too much. I
                       breathe screenwriting.

                               BRICKFISHERS
                       Were there any early hints
or clues that you might have
                       ended up liking
                       screenwriting?

                               HOLYFIRE
My mother is just one of
                       the eight girls my
                       grandmother gave birth to.
                       I have a multitude of
                       cousins. When I was around
six, all of us little kids
                       would get stuck in my
                       grandmothers' small bedroom
                       during family reunions.
                       For some reason, we all
                       found making up ideas for
                       movies and acting them out
as a fun way to entertain
                       ourselves. I remember I
                       never acted. I was always
one of the kids who liked
to help come up with ideas
and then direct. I got so
into it that my little sister
and I began putting on plays
                       at home for my parents.
                           (giggles)
                       I also remember saying,
"I wonder who came up with
the idea for that movie" a lot.
                       Other eleven year old kids
                       would be into their
                       favorite actors like
                       Freddy Prince Jr. and I'd
                           (giggles)
                       be into Shyamalan.
                       So there were actual hints
there when I was six or
                       seven, come to think about
                       it. Those years were great.
                       I actually have a relative
who was one of those kids,
                       who is now just entering
                       college, and plans on
                       majoring in Media Arts also.
                       I enjoy the thought of
                       being able to share this
                       experience with him.

                              BRICKFISHERS
How old were you when you
                       began writing?

                               HOLYFIRE
I was seven when I began
                       writing immensely. I have
                       a journal to prove it.
I keep it very safe in
a box with the rest of my
                       journals. In total, my
                       journals express thirteen
                       years of my life.

                               BRICKFISHERS
                       What have you gotten out
of being a Media Arts Major
                       so far and having your
                       experiences?

                               HOLYFIRE
                       They're just irreplaceable.
                       I dream of my scripts
                       getting produced by the bigs
                            (giggles)
                       like Universal or Gener8xion.
                       It's a huge dream. A lot has
been said about us "crazy" Media
                       Arts Majors, but I'm glad
                       I'm taking this risk. I'm
                       learning a lot of life
                       lessons. It's not all about
                       improving my writing skills.
                       I've grown personally. I
                       was bullied a lot in
                       elementary and high school.
                       I pretty much grew up
                       isolating myself from people
                       and becoming anti-social.
                       My mother is also extremely
                       protective of me and kept
me close to her side since
                       childhood. I attend a
                       Christian church where
                       people constantly tell
                       me, "God bless you." I
                       love it. I'm not
                       complaining. It's just
                       that entering the film
                       industry, nobody is going
to be so sweet to me or
                       at least in the beginning.
                       For the first time, I'm
                       meeting elders who are not
so kind. For the first time,
I have to audition in school.
I was quiet. I was shy and
timid, but now I'm slowly gaining
                       my own voice. I'm stepping
up and saying in my mind,
                       "You know what? I don't
                       wanna change for the world.
                       I don't wanna change for
                       Hollywood. Though I don't
                       look like a model, that's
                       okay. Cuz in the morning,
                       I'm still beautiful in the
eyes of God. I don't need
to be accepted by man. I
need to be who God created
me to be and I believe He
                       wants me to write."

                               BRICKFISHERS
                       I think an important question
now is, why do you want to
                       pursue screenwriting? What do
you think your purpose would be
                       in the film industry?

                               HOLYFIRE
It was prophesied to me years
ago, in a small church, that my
hands would be used by God to
do His work. Of course, being
this young newbie so thirsty to
                            (giggles)
                       become the next Billy Graham,
I imagined God would use me
to heal the sick or restore
sight to the blind when I pray
for them. I had no idea that
years later, God would use my
love for writing as a way to
                       Glorify Him. I was so
                       desperate to leave this
                       country and just become a
                       missionary. I wanted to
                       evangelize. My parents,
                       however, were not so excited
at the time. I wanted to go
to China and at that very
                       time there were actually
                       reporting's of Christians
                       getting murdered during
                       missionary trips. I have a
                       friend who, at the time,
                       told me many students from
                       her Christian college were
                       caught preaching in Israel
                       and got arrested over there.
If I would had went to China
                       without the blessing from God
                       and my parents right after
high school, I might not had
                       been here typing this today.
                       My parents decided to guide
                       me towards a public college
to major in Media Arts. They
                       told me, "After college you
                       can go on missionary trips."
                       They knew I loved writing
and they knew I could use
                       my writing to evangelize
                       through film. I was just
young and so confused at the
time. I believe I do not have
to travel across the world to
                       preach the Gospel. I can
                       evangelize through film.
                       Who knows maybe God will
even open doors for me to touch
                       the lives of celebrities with
Christ. I can be praying to God
to use me as an anevangelist and
God could be saying up in heaven,
"You want to be an evangelist?
                       Well, I need a Christian
                       screenwriter in Hollywood."
                       God works in mysterious ways
                       and I believe writing
                       contemporary Christian films
is His will for my life.
I'm not in this to convert
the world at all, but to
                       spread the love of Christ
through film to all that are
                       willing to watch.

                               BRICKFISHERS
                       Any last words?

                               HOLYFIRE
I'd like to add that this
                       blog(interview) between
                       Brickfishers and Holyfire
                       was written by me (Holyfire).
                       I answered my own questions.
All of the answers are true.
None of the answers are false.
                       Thanks for reading.

The way I see it, if these

uneducated fools want to join

away let ‘em. They’ve got nothin'

better to offer us then killing
