Brickfish-- meet my mother, Tina 46. Me, 21. Notice a difference?
I have been blessed with a wonderful best friend whom I refer to as my mom. She in a true inspiration in many different aspects in my life. Yes it is true, I look just like her.. and believe it or not, she looks exactly like her mom.
My mother and I are both very petite women, weighing in at about 110 lbs and gracefully reaching 5'2. Out of the many things we do agree on, one thing helps set us apart.. clothing. My mom's fashion sense is caught in a transition from her time period into mine. She is very limited to the colors and patterns she is willing to wear.. which is normally dark colors. I on the other hand, love to have both a mix in patterns and colors. It's hard to ask for advice on how something looks because our idea of "cute and fashionable" are on opposite ends of the spectrum.
My mother is also very conservation, and I am not. The top right and bottom pictures were taken at there surprise wedding anniversary in October of 2007. Notice her BLACK PLAIN dress? and BLACK shirt? :)
There are also benefits with my mom and me, since we are the same size she normally likes to steal my clothes, like my tops especially. Everytime I come home with some new clothes from Charlotte Russe or Wetseal, she goes "Oh this is cute", tries it on and I have to steal it back. However, since I work in real estate now and need to wear more casual and professional clothes-- I tend to take hers and wear them, which are normally from New York and Co. We also have a habit of stealing each other's socks, yes its weird-- but its what we do. When it comes to taste also, clothes isn't the only thing we share. Perfume, she steals it or uses all of it. Hairspray, she steals it-- so I go out and buy her own for her. My Chi straightener, when its not in my bathroom, I know just where to look, hers!
My goal is to and hopefully with motivation, I can get her out of those dull colors, sweat pants, and jackets (always wearing one) and turn her into a 46 year old fashionista.
