Earlier this year, one of my best friends, Tiffany, passed away due to Pulmonary Hypertension, which is "a rare blood vessel disorder of the lung in which the pressure in the pulmonary artery (the blood vessel that leads from the heart to the lungs) rises above normal levels and may become life threatening." (phassociation.org) -she was only 18. It's an illness she's possessed since birth, but always continued life with a smile on her face and did not let her stop her from doing things she loved such as going to concerts, writing, and photography. Her life (not her death) has inspired me and her friends and family to educate people about this disease. It's a shame that someone so young had to be taken away from people she loved when there where so many other plans that were never finished. She was learning how to drive and getting ready for college. What is sadder is that she's not the only one experiencing this. We hope that by telling more people about it, it will give more reason to do research on how to find a cure or better treatment. The rareness of the disease is what helps push us to tell more people about it. More awareness=more donations=more reasearch=a hope for a cure. We do not want anymore people to express the grief ailing our hearts and the sickness Tiffany has had. Please vote and support PHA!

Too often we under estimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.--Leo Buscaglia
