Let me fill you in on the story of what is going on in my life.....it fits this whole "ranting" theme perfectly.....
I received a letter from the owners of the apartment complex where I live saying that I moved out and owed 3 months rent plus almost $600 for having to clean and paint my entire unit. Imagine my surprise since I still live here!
I had been doing apartment cleaning and repairs for this place, and the manager, my best friend of over 20 years, had told me that he was covering my rent, just like his and the asst. managers was covered each month. He had even told me over and over when I asked him about it that I shouldn't worry because it was taken care of. Unfortunately I never got this agreement in writing. It's that whole"trust your friends" thing, ya know?
I never got any late notices, any eviction notices, or even any verbal "hey, we need to take care of your late rent" from anybody, so I had no reason to doubt anything. So now, he and the asst. manager are both fired, it comes out that he has done this to 8 units so far, plus others had paid rent that never got credited to their accounts. I am now $2000 behind in rent, and I need to cover as much as I can as soon as possible, because they don't have a payment plan for back rent owed. If I don't pay it, I get evicted.....final answer.
The really bad part is that he said I moved out on Nov. 22, and they inspected my apartment on Nov. 26...the day before Thanksgiving. I FED HIM AND HIS WIFE FOR THANKSGIVING THE NEXT DAY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY MONEY OR FAMILY TO SPEND THE HOLIDAY WITH!
Update.............I will be moving sometime in January.........
