As CEO and President, Nichole oversees all facets of the company including product management, campaign services, creative services, engineering and daily operations.
A company co-founder, Brickfish represents Nichole's seventh career startup. Before Brickfish, Nichole co-founded Pacific Fusion Technologies, Inc., a technology leader that created Web based portals which interfaced with payroll companies and banking systems for such renowned companies as Disney, Hughes, and several multi-billion dollar financial institutions.
As the systems architect and project lead for one of the top educational software companies in the nation, Nichole oversaw the implementation of countless innovative and ground-breaking Internet, video, and cable modem digital media solutions. Nichole led the initial development team for Lightspan Local Connect, an ASP Internet-based communications product that successfully linked teachers, students, and their families. Nichole was also co-architect of Sheraton Hotels & Resorts' Global In-Room System, which allowed guests in-room access to Internet, email, local events, and guest service applications.
As Executive Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Hyder is directly responsible for worldwide revenue generation efforts, business development, as well as the day-to-day operations of the company’s sales and marketing organizations.
Hyder formerly served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at DivX Inc. (NASDAQ:DIVX), a leading developer of video compression, digital rights management and media language technologies, where he grew the company into a multi-national organization with revenue of $60 million in 2006.
Prior to DivX, he was President and Chief Operating Officer at Archos, Inc. (Paris: JXR.PA), a manufacturer of portable digital multimedia solutions; Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Musicmatch, a provider of digital music software and services which was acquired by Yahoo! Before joining Musicmatch, Hyder held various senior management positions during 11 years at Intel Corporation, most recently as Director of Sales in the Consumer Products Group responsible for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Other previous roles included sales management positions at the networking software company Novell and dBASE II, III and IV pioneer - Ashton-Tate.
As Chief Financial Officer for Brickfish, John oversees budgeting, forecasting, cash management, capital needs and all related investor, financial and accounting functions of the company.
John joins Brickfish from Veoh Networks, Inc. a venture-backed leading Internet television provider. At Veoh, John was part of a management team that grew unique monthly visitors from several hundred thousand to over 30 million in less than two years, making Veoh a top 30 Web site in the United States. John’s role as Corporate Controller involved overseeing all financial functions of Veoh, including raising capital, operations and spending as well as human resource management.
Prior to his role at Veoh, John worked for BakBone Software, Inc. as Chief Financial Officer managing the raising of capital, acquisitions and divestures, investor relations, operations and strategic planning functions of this worldwide enterprise software company. At BakBone, John helped propel annual revenues from $3 million to more than $50 million in five years. John began his career with Arthur Andersen, LLP and has held various consulting positions for startup and emerging stage companies in the high-tech arena.
John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from San Diego State University and is a California Certified Public Accountant.
As Director of Social Media, Becky is responsible for all aspects of social media marketing, including audience engagement and loyalty, social media outreach, and thought leadership.
Becky is the author of the business blog Customers Rock! (www.customersrock.net), listed among the Top 25 Marketing blogs. She also teaches the class "Marketing via New Media" at UC San Diego Extension. Becky is a a regular personality on the Big Biz Talk Radio show, a nationally-syndicated program, a contributing author on the recently-released business books Age of Conversation and Age of Conversation 2, and a sought-after speaker on social media and customer loyalty. She has been a judge for various marketing and customer service awards.
Before joining Brickfish, Becky was the President and Founder of Petra Consulting Group, a management consultancy focused on creating WOW customer experiences. Becky’s clients have included Electronic Arts, HP, Fujitsu, and Ford. Her work with Electronic Arts won the Silver Senet award for video game marketing.
Previously, Becky was a Senior Consultant with industry-leading Peppers and Rogers Group. Becky also worked at HP for 14 years, including her role as Director of Marketing, UK.
As Director of Engineering at Brickfish, Rob leads the technology team in developing the Brickfish platform. Rob brings many years of experience in system architecture and web site development to Brickfish.
Prior to joining Brickfish, he held an architecture position for Exametric, a developer of workforce management software used in banks including Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Rob has also worked for Lightspan, Inc., where he contributed as a system architect to their educational web site. Before Lightspan, Rob created a successful GIS ecommerce site for CACI where small business owners could purchase regional demographic reports. Rob also worked as a technical lead at Avectra where he architected and developed many applications contributing to the company's growth from a basement startup to a leader in the market for Association Management Software.
As Director of Campaign Services for Brickfish, Misty oversees all client relationships, including all facets of campaign production, moderation, prizing and fulfillment.
With over ten years agency experience, Misty has worked with a variety of top brands including AT&T, Coors Brewing Company, United Airlines, Simple Green, HP, Vail Resorts and Disney. Before joining Brickfish, Misty led Client Services at Geary Interactive, an online marketing advertising agency. She was responsible for managing key client relationships, agency workflow, day-to-day operations and internal project teams.
Prior to Geary Interactive, Misty was Senior Interactive Producer at The Integer Group (Omincom). At Integer, Misty worked closely with clients to deliver best in practice campaigns and products. She also streamlined procedures, such as development and corporate management practices, in order to optimize core processes.
Misty holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and Visual Communications from The University of Kansas.
As an experienced CEO and corporate director, John has been instrumental in the successes of a host of computer software and Internet businesses. Prior to founding Brickfish, John built Lightspan (NASDAQ: LSPN) from a startup to a $50+ million revenue public company before merging it with Plato Learning (NASDAQ: TUTR). Previously, John founded Jostens Learning Corporation which he built from the ground up into the nation's largest education software business with revenues in excess of $200 million.
Specializing in corporate development including startups, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, John also helped build Elemental Software (now part of Adobe Systems Incorporated), and helped to create Gill Management Services (now CSG Systems). John serves as a director and investor on a number of other notable public and private Internet software companies, including Midicorp and Varsity Group, Inc.
Dixon is Co-Founder and General Partner for DCM. For more than 35 years, Dixon has influenced and guided entrepreneurs, investors and executives in the computer and communications industries. In recognition of his accomplishments in venture capital, Dixon was named by Forbes magazine as one of the top 100 venture investors on its Midas List for the past four years, as well as one of the top 100 personalities involved in creating the information highway by Upside magazine. In April, 2005, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Venture Capital Association in Washington, D.C., where he also serves on the Executive Committee.
Since the early 1980's, Dixon has been a telecom and Internet venture capital pioneer. In 1996 he launched DCM, an early stage technology venture capital firm which currently has more than $1.6 billion under management, headquartered in Menlo Park, California. DCM has backed such well known entrepreneurial companies as About.com, @Motion, Clearwire, 51job, Foundry Networks, Internap, Ipivot, Neutral Tandem, PGP Corp., Recourse Technologies, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp, and Sling Media. DCM has become widely recognized as one of the top Silicon Valley venture firms actively investing in China and Japan. In the mid-1980's, Dixon cofounded the venture capital industry's first fund focused exclusively on telecommunications opportunities. Those funds he organized launched such noteworthy companies as Alantec, Bridge Communication, Centillion Networks, Network Equipment Technologies, Optilink, Picturetel, Polycom, and UUNet.
Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, Dixon was the Founder and CEO of an internationally recognized strategic consulting firm focused on telecommunications and computer networking. From 1972 to 1980, Dixon also served as a faculty member of the IBM Systems Research Institute in New York City, and then served on the IBM Networking Systems Organization's External Advisory Board from 1983 to 1991.
John has been on the UCLA faculty since 1992, where he performs research on communications and networking technologies. Over the past decade he has advised leading technology organizations including BellSouth, Broadcom, DivX, the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Granite Ventures, Hewlett Packard, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Nokia, Ricoh, Samsung, and Shutterfly. John is engaged with Brickfish on a broad range of issues, and is particularly active with respect to identifying and helping to oversee the prosecution of Brickfish's intellectual property.
