A Refuge
Description:
Five years ago, at 34, I went for a stress-relieving run. When I returned an hour later, my husband wondered if I had been running the entire time. Thus, my running adventure began. As a mother of three children, a run is a quiet, relective, energy-boosting, refuge. The longer the run, the better I feel. The personal challenge of the miles satisfies my soul. I am overwhelmed before a 20 mile run, but as it progresses, I lose myself in the simplicity of each step. The run clears my mind, renews my spirit, and fuels my body. At the end of the day, the run sustains me in my most important roles as wife and mother. This is why I believe in the run!
