Vote for ME!
Description:
I've lived the American Dream. I have worked to become an educated and productive member of society. I have spent a lifetime as an educator and volunteer emergency responder. I live of simple means and have a family who all work for a living. I don't owe anyone and I'm not in anyone's pocket. I try not to be a liar or a cheat. I don't rip people off. I oppose the war but support the troops. I believe in freedom of choice in all aspects of life. Wait, those aren't good political traits, are they?

Honest Abe? Twenty-seven years in the classroom and I haven't been called that one. Extra credit for originality. 21st century America, huh? A Renaissance of virtues would greatly benefit the country, but that comes from church (whatever that means to you) and family. Not the government. I would like to institute non-partisan politics. Those that are elected must learn to realize that they are there to represent The People; not The Big Business. Government needs to get out of peoples' houses. I would push for an equitable health care short of socialized government medicine. I would push for equitable PUBLIC education throughout the United States, urging big business to take some of those huge profits they're making and adopting a school system somewhere. I would drop the No Child Left Behind as it is because it isn't working and has been around long enough to determine that. It is incumbent on the States to fund education to it's fullest and set their own standards. Taxes? We have to pay for stuff somehow. Bush the Second has put your childrens' children in debt with Iraq II. Good luck with that, kids. The wealthiest need to pay the highest percentage along with the major corporations-- no more hiding offshore accounts. Welfare? There are those out there who truly need a helping hand. Some for a lifetime and some for a short while. Three and four generations of the same family don't need to stay on public assistance. If you're able-bodied, get out and get to work. There are plenty of jobs out there. Immigration? We are a Nation of immigrants. But, stand in line and follow procedure like everyone else. Get the proper work or education visas before you get here. Marriage is between two people and not the Government's business; though I do support domestic partner benefits. We need a strong national defense and let the UN do what it was intended for, being the World's police. If NAFTA is going to work, everyone involved has to get on the same page. We need to get the US economy back on track rather than let the Euro outpace us, the Canadian Dollar catch up, and the Peso still lag far behind. I could ramble on. But, I'll stop now.

I guess this will be ending pretty soon. I appreciate the support of all my constituents. I will demand a recount. I do not concede the election. Wait, that sounded like a politician and I was trying not to. I'm sorry. Gee. I feel real bad now. No, not really.

Anyway,thanks again for everybody's support.
