Oh my gosh! that is amazing, i am so glad cameras exist! its neat to think that your great grandpa was probably born in the civil war era and lived into the 1900's. everything changed so much between the mid 1800s to the early 1900's. it must have been cool to witness those changes.

Photos like this help to bring life to stories that families have collected over the years. My mom ran across a stack of old family pictures that dated back to the 1800's and on the back of most of those pictures were the names of who they were. When she pieced the family together she was able to do a family tree and had the faces to go with most of them. She managed to track down a great granddaughter of whose family pictures they used to belong to. They are now in that person possesion. She was in tears when my mom managed to track her down and had all this for her.
