This is an amazing piece viewed in a small view. How long have you beeing working with 3d?

If I may critique this piece... I am also a 3d artist.

You picked 3 of the hardest things to texture: grass, wood, and tree bark. None of the edges on your model are chamfered, which they need to be to capture a very important spectular highlight.

The UVs on the wood at the bottom, the stairs and the railing need to be adjusted to line up with the planks. Also the wood UV's on the sides are stretched and needed to be scaled down. I'm not seeing any bumping going on either. With high quality wood you need to use displacement mapping.

The tree isn't too incredibly bad, it just looks really flat and shapeless, as you can see as you look at the edges, it is a flat straight line defining the edge of the bark. It should be very jagged, rigged and bumpy. Once again, you wont want to model all that, I'd reccommend displacment there as well. UV's on the branches need to be rotated to line up with the direction of the branch flow.

For the grass, I'll keep it simple. Grass never looks good when you use a texture map. It needs to be modled.

I will also keep it short with the lighting critique. I use 3ds Max and V-ray for my lighting, I only use maya for animation and haven't done much with lighting. So I wont be able to give you specific suggestions.

There are lights on inside. There needs to be shadows for the windows streecking on the outside of the house. There's no ambient occlusion... anywhere. Are you using global illumination or compositing the image?

Other then all that, I think it's a pretty sweet idea. And I wish you luck. I would be real interested in seeing a revised version of this.
