Mr. Pelayo has captured the embodied essence of Freda Kahlo's lore and subtle regal ness. Similar to the vision of the Virgin of Guadalupe this portrait accents the humility and pride that this great Mexican artist stood for. A deep admiration from Antonio Pelayo is noted and felt when viewing "KAHLO". Amongst the many details of this portrait, the most notable are the simple sultriness of Freda's stare and the addition of a single "Calvera" earring a detail that was added by Pelayo. When asked why a calavera Pelayo was not able to give me a clear response. My opinion is that Antonio was trying to thank her for inspiration and this earring is something that will always adorn her.

The vision of the artist to capture such a great moment really defines his ability to go behind from what others can do. The Frida work really shows the artist attention to detail, simply amazing.
