The Pacaya Volcano
Description:
This is something no one gets to experience everyday or even in a lifetime... When we talk about volcanoes, fear comes to our minds thinking of how hideous this feature of the planet could be, but it's not at all; it can actually be something extraordinary and beautiful until you actually experience it. This was in Guatemala when we went for our Christmas break last year. El Volcan de Pacaya is an AMAZING place to hike and it's worth climbing those 4 kilometers up to the top because at the very tip of it, you can witness and see with your own eyes the molten lava erupting very subtly all the way down... This volcano is very unusual b/c it's always active and it's near the city. Scary...
