Dad, coach, teacher, role model, and Hero
Description:
My dad is one of the greatest dads ever. He has taught me a life time worth of knowledge and acceptance. He came from a family of eight children. They didn’t have much living off a very low income. He worked straight out of high school in order to help himself and his family get by. He eventually got a low end, minimum wage job at Motorola. After awhile working there, one of his coworkers was pressed for time and asked him to see if he could figure out what was wrong with the fixture. He looked at it and figured it out by the next day, a feat the experienced colleague was incapable of. Word got around, and everyone asked him for little favors. He sat in a cubicle with fresh out of co

it said 700 words but it cut it off; here is the rest::

He sat in a cubicle with fresh out of college students and asked them questions on how stuff works on the computers, etc. He has learned much of what he knows now by trial and error and asking questions. He has worked his way up to the position he currently has. Even though others from higher positions and those across the country ask him for favors, they refuse to promote him because he doesn’t have the college education required. He has taught me that hard work and perseverance really gets you further in life. He taught me to always do things for a purpose. Love is unconditional. The day of my dad’s first date with my mom, he had a motorcycle accident and split his head open. He refused to miss his chance and covered it up with a handkerchief. Eventually, he ended up in the hospital that night, but he didn’t miss that date. They have been in love ever since. My dad has also been my coach in three different sports for years. Pushing me to be the best athlete I can as well as motivating me and proving how much he cares. My dad is an active role in my life and is always there for me. He is one of the funniest persons I have ever met. There is not a day he can’t make me laugh, no matter how sour my mood is. To me, he is flawless, he IS the perfect person. I have grown to realize that everything he has done and every decision he has made is for the best intentions, not for himself but for his children and wife. It kills me to know that it kills him, knowing that he can’t pay for my college. However, I have learned determination through him and I will show him that. I will make him proud, I will get over this bump in the road and I will succeed and all to the thanks of everything he has taught me and because he believes in me. Happily married for 21 years. Father of Five. Coach. Teacher. Role model. Hero. I am proud to say this: “He will always be my dad. And I will always be his little girl.”
