Gone, But Not Forgotten
Description:
This picture spawned a conversation with a friend about death. I wondered how the butterfly ended up on the beach, how it died. I'm sure there is some sort of story behind this shell of a butterfly. Which made me think about how we all have a story and how we all end up somewhere. And all that is left of us in the end is a shell of what was. But what will always be present is our story.

The colors are fantastic - and the concept is quite moving. Butterflies are naturally art, and this is just one phase of it. Mad props, yo~

Even though I know it's not and it's the sand giving the picture the textured look of a painting and or drawing, it's hard to not think of it as one at first glance but then once I see it more closely it sparks in my mind. This is DEFINITELY a PHOTOGRAPH! awesome picture!

Thanks for all the nice comments, but I feel it's important to stress that this isn't a painting or a drawing, it is, in fact a picture.

I thought it was a drawing or a paiting of some sort. I couldn't figure out why it was so grainy looking (like a drawing or a painting) until I read the description and it said it was sand. It's a really good photo.
