Thanks for getting back to me, Jen - I'm glad your inland, but ...wow, even still ... to have ash on your car is unbelievable and the sky you described sounds so eerie. I'd definitely sign up as a volunteer - that's a great idea! I heard the smoke could be seen from satellites in space, too, and certain animal species from the San Diego Zoo had to be evacuated, too. I've heard from Vincent and he and his family are fine. Keep in touch - keep your camera handy, too. You're such a good writer and photographer - you can do something creative with it, or at the very least, document it from your personal perspective. It would be interesting to look back on someday, Jen.

Jen! The fires look frightening and massive. If I recall, you're living a bit more inland? Hollywood area? At least you're not in Malibu or next door. I hope you're safe and sound and that the smoke isn't too bad where you are. Keep in touch!
