To whom it may concern,



I am Jared Howell and I have run into a situation with the Rascal Flatts Campaign that has presented itself over the last few days. It seems to me, as well as some of my friends, that this campaign is not going to be at all one hundred percent (100%) fair for all contestants.



Let me explain.



It states in the campaign rules that all entries are due by April 15, 2008. This is not the problem. The problem is that on this same date (April 15, 2008) is when voting is due as well.



How is it that anyone who puts an audition video up on this date (April 15, 2008) is going to even have a remote chance of moving anywhere but in dead last in this contest/campaign?



It seems as though the individuals who have had their audition video posted the longest are going to have the greatest opportunity to win this contest/campaign. With this situation the balance of equal opportunity for all contestants is offset, and is quite frankly, WRONG. When you put this case into perspective this campaign should be halted and a new one should be constructed that gives all contestants an equal opportunity at receiving the grand prize. I hope that this problem can be resolved so that this contest does not receive bad publicity. This could occur as a result of contestants finding that this contest was not set up properly, and they were not allowed the equal chance to win in this contest/campaign and begin to demand justice for this contest to be ceased, evaluated, fixed, and redone.



Let me say one more thing.



I am not writing this because I want to make a scene or increase my chances in this contest, but rather that everyone is equally eligible for this ONCE IN A LIFETIME possibility to sing with a great band and have the time of their life. Is this not what our whole premice of life in America revolved around? Equality for the person auditioning next to you to have the same chance to win as you do? For the people who have the same degree to have the same opportunity to be interviewed and offered a job?



I move that all who have entered into this contest have the same opportunity to win the grand prize. And the only way to make this happen is to halt the current contest/campaign and start a new one that allows for the previously discussed problem to be eliminated by following these steps:



1) All entries should be submitted and finalized for the voting process, which should not begin until after this process has been completed.

2) Voting is given a specific time period (i.e. April 15, 2008 – April 22, 2008) and begin in which voters can vote for the contestants who made the entry deadline.

3) Voting is completed, all votes are summed up, winners are selected, then informed, and receive their prizes.
