THE ARTIST: Country singer Tony Thompson, grew up in New Boston, MI. He now resides in Ecorse with his wife Amber, dog Chauncey and 3 cats.

THE STYLE: Tony Thompson’s vocals brings a contemporary edge to country music. He calls his craft a soulful style of country. His voice is filled with power and lots of soul. His country inspirations are Rascal Flatts, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Lonestar, and Keith Urban. Other influences include Boyz II Men, Jodeci and The Temptations. He brings a fresh new sound to country with his original style.

THE HISTORY: Tony gets his vocal ability from his mom, who also use to sing in a country band. “My mom has a beautiful voice, but never had the confidence to chase that dream” he says. Tony realized early on that he had the same gift. From that point on he seemed destined for a career in music from the beginning — it all started with a tape recorder and his young, dreaming spirit. “I used to love to record myself singing … and pretend introducing myself to an audience,” said Tony, who first sang live, at the request of a friend, at his junior high school Valentine’s Day dance. From that moment, when the crowd roared after his performance, a life on stage is what he wanted. Tony grew in the next few years as a performer, participating in every school function possible — even singing before sporting events in his uniform before playing in games. In 2002 he met the ultimate inspiration for chasing his dream, the woman who would later become his wife, Amber. Through her he met his producer, Rick Young from Talent Live Studios. As Tony puts it, “Rick was able to take my vocal talents and my drive and point them in the right direction.” Tony has grown even more since then by learning to play the guitar and write his own songs. Lately he has been doing a lot of work in the recording studio and performing live at festivals, events and parties. He has won several contests including the Colgate Country Showdown and Nashville Idol hosted by 106.7 The Fox.

THE SONGS: The first release is "Plans" This was written by Tony and his wife, Amber. It is a heart felt song about how no matter what we plan, things don't always go our way. The upcoming album is being recorded with producer Rick Young of Talent Live Recording Studios in Canton.
