Hey there! I'm Shayla. I'm a vocal performance and pedagogy major at Oakwood College focusing on opera, but my heart is musical theater. I LOVE to laugh, and try my hardest to live the life God wants me to live. I'm engaged to the love of my life, and believe that love is the most powerful thing in life. General
I love to play the piano. I'm acutally in the process of creating my 3rd composition. Singing of course and dancing too. I love reading books...especially books about history. ( You gotta know where you came from to know where you're going.) I LOVE SHOPPING!...SHOES! High heels are my other lover! lol I love family. My family means the world to me...there a lot of interest I have...but there's a few . ;)
Dreams
My bigeest dream is becoming a Broadway actress. Ever since I was 8 I wanted to perform. I love the idea of being able to have someone come into a performance and leave better than when they came in. Music is a powerful things...the universal language of us all. I WILL HAVE a Tony award one day for a musical that I've been a part of, and of course, I want a family.
Music
I Love Classical music. It's so intricate and incomparable. Since I'm a music major, I pretty much have to appreciate ALL genres of music. (lol) But my favorites are the hymns of the church...beautiful words and imagery in those lyrics, Broadway music...so unorthodox and real, and anything that is fresh and bold.

Places
SPAIN! I was blessed to have been able to travel to Spain twice in my college career on tour with the college's internationally known choir. It's a beautiful place full of rich culture,FABULOUS FASHION, and warm hearts. ST. CROIX. I'm an island girl and when money allows, my family and I travel to my mother's home. ORLANDO! There's so much in that place.
