I started creating art as a young child. In high school I realized that it was much more then a hobby, there are actually people that create art for a living. In 1986 I started college at Columbus College of Art & Design in Ohio. I transfered to Stephen's College in 1987 to earn my degree in fashion design. After I graduated from college, I married my love for art and fashion by becoming a fashion illustrator. My fashion illustrations gradually transformed into fine art images as I developed an interest in pinup and stylized Japanese airbrush images of women.
As I found galleries to show my art, my collector base grew. I was able to gain International recognition with the release of my official website, www.janesko.com My work gained momentum in the 90's with features in Maxim and Playboy magazine. It was also featured on Fox TV's The X Show and in the feature film Exit To Eden.
Recent projects include the initial stages of my third book, a collaboration with Haut Art Wines of Napa Valley and several exhibitions around the country.
Beyond painting, I also work as a makeup artist and body painter. I am very interested in the culinary arts and I am profoundly inspired by travel.
