Happy Valentine's Day!

Interests
General

I have been happily married for seven years to my husband, Jim, and have two wonderful boys, Tyler (4 1/2) and Connor (22 months), who are the joys of my life. In addition to my children, I have two beagles, a cat, and a fish.

I am originally from Southern California, and grew up in Cypress (Orange County), where I lived for 24 years.

I attended California State University, Long Beach where I earned a BA in both English Literature and Sociology.  Shortly after graduation, my husband and I moved to Hawaii and lived in Kailua (Oahu).  During the five years we lived there, we were married and welcomed our first son, Tyler.

For over four years now, we have been living in Gig Harbor (Washington), about an hour outside of Seattle, and absolutely love it.

During my free time, which is very little, I enjoy reading (biographies and crime novels/thrillers), watching TV, listening to music, the internet, making greeting cards, invitations, and some scrapbooking, and catching up on celebrity gossip.  I love to shop, and enjoy working on my house. My favorite food is Mexican, anything chocolate, Starbucks, and red wine and martinis--until they started giving me headaches! :(

Music

Aside from Country and Rap, I enjoy different types of music. I mostly listen to my ipod which is filled with Classic Rock, Rock, and Alternative music.  I am definitely a product of the 80's, and still listen to New Wave, Heavy Metal (more like Hair Metal), and basically anything they played on KROQ. I have become a lot more mellow since my Metallica days, and prefer listening to bands such as Coldplay.

Movies

Before children, I used to watch a lot of movies, but now I seem to only have time for TV (thanks to TIVO).  My favorite movies are comedies, and I can still watch Sixteen Candles without ever getting tired of it.  I enjoy psychological thrillers, but when I don't feel like thinking much, a good scary movie is always fun to watch.

Some of my current favorite TV shows I enjoy watching are Lost, Supernatural, Heroes, What About Brian, Ugly Betty, Entourage, The Sopranos, Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, The Class, The Office, and My Name is Earl.

People

I am so fortunate to have such a loving and supportive family in my life.  My husband, Jim, is truly my soul mate, and we have the sweetest boys any parent could ask for.  I am very close to my mom and dad, as well as my sister, Laura, and her family.  Not only is Laura my sister, she is also my best friend.

Places

I have lived in California, Hawaii, and Washington, and visited many states over the years.  I have been to Canada (Vancouver and Victoria), and went on the Senior trip from hell to Mazatlan, Mexico. I enjoy both small towns and large cities, but prefer the quaintness of the small city we live in. After having children, it is more difficult to get away, but we did recently take a trip to Virginia, New York City, and Boston, and are panning a trip to Chicago this summer. After living on an island for five years, I have no desire at this time to visit any tropical locations, but do hope to see Europe, especially France, Italy, Greece, and Spain, someday.
