Who am I? Well there are always the appearances and characteristics- Skinny, scatter-brained, and sensitive. Paper-white pale with speckles of freckles. Caring and curious, a little careful, but not overly cautious. Now that I have drawn you a rough sketch, let me paint you the portrait. Not just the filled-in lines either, but the tiny flecks of paint that show my different shades. The colors that merge to create inventive hues, and the textures that make the painting come alive.
I am a senior, born and raised in Philadelphia.I have a twin brother named Jim. I cried from joy when the Phillies won the world series. Singing, acting, and writing are my passions. The Beach Boys are my favorite Band and I know that Brian Wilson is a genius. I have gone to Quaker K-12 school my whole life and I love it. My parents, my Grandfather Pop,and my cousin Bonnie are my heroes. I am very Irish though. I have studied Latin for 5 years, I want to learn Italian. I like to design in spare (many times on my notebook pages...sh!) time. I am part of a professional girlchoir and with it, I have traveled to Iceland, Prague, Germany, and France. With my Acapella group, I have sang in the Parthenon as well as in side allies of Greece.I play water polo and love to swim. I love lying out in the sun in Strathmere, New Jersey with my best friends reading a favorite book and relaxing to Jimmy Buffett. The beach is my home, and I am a true summer girl at heart. Nothing makes me happier then being surrounded by my family and friends.
Creativity drives me to learn. I learn best when I apply my passions to everyday life. When asked a logical or theoretical question, I use my enthusiasm for acting to create different scenarios to come up with possible solutions. When I discover how to make a song more musical, I use musicality to create ebb and flow into writing.
Other people fascinate me. I thrive on learning about diverse new cultures and different religions. I cannot resist the allure to travel the world because there is so much to learn, and a countless number of people to meet. I am drawn to other’s feelings because I feel the importance and necessity to show compassion. I am enthralled when I garner knowledge from others and when I gain new perspectives on life, then I can mold myself into the best person I can be. I am me.
