My name is Kristy...I'm from Oceana, WV. I work for Jan Care Ambulance in Wyoming County. I'm an EMT-Basic and I absolutely love what I do. I'm a full time student at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. I'm working toward an associate degree in EMS. This spring semester I'll be taking Math, General Psychology, Medical Terminology, Speech, and Essential Human Systems for Allied Health. The actual medic stuff doesn't start till June 2008 and I can't wait!
Other than that, I'm also an artist. I don't have much time to draw anymore but I studied art at Concord University for a year and although I realized art wasn't something I wanted to do for a living, I still love it and I plan on completeing my art degree later on. As far as art goes, I love surrealism, impressionism, expressionism and I'm a big fan of anime / manga style as well. My favorite artists are Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Thomas Kincaid.
I love helping people. I enjoy volunteering and I plan to do much more of it as soon as I finish my degree. Right now I'm a wish granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I'm sure everyone already knows what Make-A-Wish does, but everyone always asks me what a wish granter is. A wish granter is someone that goes to the child's home and meets with them and the family (usually with another wish granter) and talks to them about the types of wishes we can grant, helps them fill out paperwork, and helps them figure out the details of their wish.
I'm also dating a wonderful guy named Dave. We started dating Dec. 12, 2007. He's the best boyfriend I've ever had and I'm lucky to be with him. :) We're also getting married June 28, 2009

General
Horror movies: I like just about all types of movies but horror movies are by far my favorite.
Skiing: Well, okay, I just started this one and I'm so pathetic I haven't even gone down an actual slope yet :( lol...but its a lot of fun and I'm going to keep practicing till I'm good at it. Actually I'd really like to work as a ski patroller later on.
Reading: I mostly read dystopian stuff, you know...1984, Fahrenheit 451, stuff like that. But I love text books, medical books, manga, philosophical books. I don't like fantasy much at all.
The medical field: Anything related to emergency medicine, obviously...but also general pathology, psychology, and microbiology.
Art: Drawing, surrealism, impressionism, expressionism, anime/manga style
Web design : I used to make basic html sites all the time when I was in high school and I got away from it for a while, but I just recently picked it back up. Right now I'm working on learning more about CSS.
Writing: I've never really tried writing before but recently I've become interested in it so I'm going to give it a shot.
