I believe that anything is possible, using your imagination. I lived a life of struggle through out my life. With an abusive father and a mother who gambled her life away, and took my siblings and I almost with her. Having to grow-up faster than most. Chicago is rough. Enough about the hard times, currently, I am a student at The Illinois Institute of Art - Schaumburg, Illinois. I am excited about graduating this June (2008) with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design.
To think, the financil Aid officer siad that there was no way I could afford to go to this school. I told her that anything is possible, if I want it bad enough. She tried her hardest to find me addition money to help me out. This July I am traveling to Spain, to vacation
and study art. Then my plans are to travel to California to help my sister go to school, since I’ll be out of school for the moment. I would really like to continue my education, but we’ll have to see how the money situation is at the time. I would really like to get my master’s degree in museum studies. I love art so much I want to surround
myself with it every moment I can. I use to work as a art slide librarian for Harper College as well as, assistant art curator. I helped out in many areas such as, photographing the collection, and what an extensive collection they had. Everything from Roy Lichtenstein, Picasso, Sol LeWitt, and more. I also ran the “Small Works” Annual National Art Exhibition. This gave me a great experience and a overall
learning experience. I love to paint, unfortunately I don’t get to paint as much as I’d like because of school. But anytime I do get I paint murals for commercial and residential. It gives me challenges and to work with a client base. I do experimaental art all the time with-in my graphic design and fine arts. I love to create and hope one day I could inspire someone else.
