I am my mother's daughter, inside and out. She raised me with Layne Stanley, Ann and Nancy Wilson, Jimmy Page, Pat Benatar, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Freddie Mercury, Ted Nugent, Sammy Hagar, and many others. I have never had musicians in my blood, but I had wanted to be connected to music. I had wanted to write what they played; I wanted to be the center, the source. Once I picked up a pen, my life was designed. I found the works of Sylvia Plath, Edna Millay, Robert Frost, Janet Fitch, Henry David Thoreau, Frederick Nietzsche, Alice Walker, Kahlil Gibran, and began my education. After a long while, my pen became a paintbrush, then a drum stick, and now it's a shutter release button. I am attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh because I am the owner of Oleander Photography™ and I will make it my studio when I have the means. At the moment, my life is coasting in a blur of adhesives, film, paper, sunrises, notebooks, competition, stress, 30 cent packs of Ramen, long nights sitting beside the rivers, and fireworks.
