Brickfish® Etiquette
- Be a valuable and contributing member of the Brickfish community.
- Our users are everything to us and you make the site what it is.
- We want you to support each other's entries and enjoy hanging out here.
- We appreciate any and all feedback, so send your thoughts to member support.
- It is never o.k. to create multiple accounts.
- You're either a Guest or a Registered Member, NOT BOTH.
- No, we don't believe that you had 500 people come over for a slumber party and they all created accounts to vote for you.
- We know when you do this, so don’t waste your time.
- Share your creativity and express yourself.
- We want you to inspire each other and us with your originality.
- Copying other people’s work and ideas is not cool, plus it violates our Terms of Use and you open yourself to legal issues.
- Don't spam fellow members.
- Leaving "Check out my entry" messages in everyone's profile comments or inboxes is really lame.
- If you annoy other people by doing this, they’re probably not going to look at your entry.
- Leave constructive, meaningful reviews.
- People who spend quality time on their entries would love to hear your praise and constructive criticism.
- Nobody likes a phony - copying & pasting the same review in every entry you see just makes you look stupid.
- If you get on people's nerves, do you really think they will support your entry?
- It is never a good idea to upload content that violates our Terms of Use.
- We want everyone to have a pleasant experience while they’re here.
- If you upload photos or videos of yourself breaking the law, you open yourself to legal prosecution.
- We monitor all campaign entries and we have to remove anything that is not allowed.
- Follow the requirements of a campaign when entering.
- Please read the campaign details and requirements so we don’t have to remove your entry.
- There is nothing more irritating than seeing pictures of you and your boyfriend in a campaign asking for tour poster designs.
- We’re going to remove anything that shouldn’t be in a campaign because we can.
- Share.
- Share your opinions, entries, and thoughts with your friends on Brickfish.
- Use the Share This Entry tools to post entries on sites other than Brickfish.
- Spread the word about Brickfish to people who haven't heard about it.
- Treat others as you would like to be treated.
- Come on... do we really need to explain this one?
- It is not acceptable to try to cheat or game Brickfish.
- We're watching and we know what you're doing, so knock it off.
Fundamental Rules for Campaign Entries
- We request that you respect copyright. When you post content (pictures, videos, and words), you're telling us that you have full permission to do so. If we find out that you're infringing on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party, we'll have to remove your content. This means don't represent anything as your own that you didn't create. Concerning entries submitted into campaigns, you may not include anything to which someone else owns the copyright; examples include music tracks that were downloaded, clips of copyrighted programs, or videos you did not create, unless you have the permission of the owner. Images downloaded off of the internet do not become your own until they have been significantly altered. If you believe that your work has been copied and posted in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please contact us as described in our Copyright/Publicity Rights Policy.
- We will not tolerate anything that can be construed as pornographic or sexually explicit content. If you think your content might fall into this category, please don't waste time uploading it. Please be advised that we are required by law to report any possible existence of child exploitation.
- We will not permit any depiction of real violence. If your content represents a person or animal getting abused physically, mentally or emotionally in any way, do not submit it to the site.
- We are not for promoting graphic content. Please do not upload highly sensitive material, such as photos of dead bodies. As a rule of thumb, if your content would make a normal person (someone in between Charles Manson and your grandma) feel sick, it's probably too graphic for our site. This includes war footage if it is intended to shock or disgust viewers, rather than show a journalistic approach to an issue.
- We have zero tolerance for stalking, harassment, threats, privacy invasions, or any other type of predatory behavior, including the revelation of other users' personal information.
- We will not allow representations of dangerous or illegal acts, like drug use or instructions on mixing dangerous or explosive chemicals.
- We will always promote the fundamental right of free speech and defend the user's right to express individual points of view. However, we will not tolerate any representation of bigotry or hate speech. If you've got something to say, say it with class, not with hate.
- We reserve the right to delete any content in violation of the Terms of Use. If we deleted it once, we had a good reason and we're going to delete it again if you try and repost it.
Please try to adhere to these guidelines, as they were created to protect the users and to establish a satisfying community. All infractions of Member Guidelines and Terms of Use are handled on a case-by-case basis. In such cases as determined eligible by Brickfish staff, violations may result in permanent removal of a member from the community.
Respect Everyone in the Brickfish Network
Our movement is about creating a conversation between a brand and a user which encourages expression of ideas on multiple levels. If you have something to say about a brand or someone's interpretation of that brand, you have the power to support it or not through features like reviewing and voting. Regardless if you are submitting entries into campaigns or just reviewing and voting for them, everyone deserves the same level of respect and consideration. If all users are actively responsible for their actions, we can truly make a difference in the way brands talk to us.
What You Can Do?
We rely on you to help make the site what it is. We want you to take advantage of the opportunity to ignite change, so don't be afraid to jump right in and get involved.
- Enjoy Our Site. There's always something new to see here, and tons of users are submitting entries into campaigns every day-one of them might be you! We are just asking that you abide by our ground rules to keep the free-flowing of ideas going strong.
- Engagement and interaction are the basis of the cause. When done respectfully, your involvement can be a way to truly impact change, plus a chance to meet new people, express and explore your creative side, and make the most of your Brickfish experience. We encourage you to reach out to people who are interesting to you, respond to entries that influence you, and enter campaigns that appeal to you.
- You may find offensive content while browsing through Brickfish. If you find any posted content in violation of our Terms of Use and/or Member Guidelines send it to member support. If you find the content personally distasteful or you just aren't a fan of an entry, don't vote for it and leave a constructive comment about how to improve it.
- We want to hear from you. At the bottom of every page there is a Feedback link for you to use. Member Support can help you with general questions. Regardless if you are having any technical problems, if you have suggestions and improvements, or if you want to tell us what you love about Brickfish, we want to hear it!
Brickfish is your environment. This is your place to shine. We all have different tastes, styles, and personalities, but let's make sure everybody feels welcome.
Thanks for your time!
-The Brickfish Team
