I am a mother of 3 and a step-mother of 3. I have a total of 6 grandchildren and another one due in January. Two children still live at home - my 24 year old who is in the US Air Force and my 16 year who is enrolled in a dual enrollment program where she attends college and earns her high school diploma and her Associate's Degree. She lives on campus Sunday - Thursday and comes home on Thursday after class. She is extremely intelligent and wants to be either a Forensic Psychologist or an Attorney. The reason I got started on Brickfish is because she is trying to win scholarship money in the campaign Off Road Nation. I entered some pictures in Photo Shootout 2 to try and win her some money. The program cost us about $2800 per semester and I have been out of work since April and receive short-term disability from my employer that amounts to about 60% of my salary. We have had a tough year beginning with my mother-in-law getting sick while visiting us during the Christmas holidays and then having to move in with us because she could not live by herself. Then, on Mother's Day she got sick again and from the hospital went to hospice, but was eventually moved to a nursing home. So now we are totally responsible for her and her bills (including her house payment). Then, 3 weeks after my daughter's 16th birthday she was on her way to church and totaled one of our cars. Thank God no one was hurt but both our car and the lady's car she hit was totaled. We still have not been able to purchase another vehicle because the insurance has not settled with us. So we have one vehicle. The only thing that has gotten us through this year is our faith in God knowing he will bring us through all this.
