Profile Summary

Awesome and inspiring minds have inevitably surfaced throughout history, but were subject to the setback of distance (in both space and time).  Looking back at the great minds of the past, it blows my mind to think of Tagore and Gandhi or Tagore and Einstein having a conversation.  Or to think of Virginia Woolf and T.S. Eliot critiquing each other’s work.  Or how electric it must have been with Alfred Stieglitz photographed Georgia O’Keefe.  My Jenna said to me today, “meeting you is like another piece to ‘the puzzle’…another step on ‘the path.’”  I said to her, one day, that she was going to change the world and she said, “You know what?  People say that to me a lot…”  And she said it in a way that implied a twinge of disbelief and a bit of responsibility.  It is my belief that everyone in this particular group has heard something to that effect before- mostly, because I recall saying it to you  I’ve been lucky to have met a few truly awesome people and it’s never easy getting them all into the same room.  So, we’ll do this instead.

Interests
General

Tabitha: Diversity issues in religion and culture (promoting, encouraging empathic/ empathetic knowledge); Women's issues; promoting all-around happiness through the sharing of friendship, candy and food; More TK.

Jenna: Music: the most universal form of expression. As well as art: photography, painting, anything you may think is art. "Life changing" books and discussing them.  I try my hand at anything that influences me, so creating is part of it all.   Really into things that 'govern' us:  religion, politics, family. Anything that influences you, interests me...why do these things impact you? I want to know...

Shauna:  Philosophy ♥ Encouraging academic pursuits and artistic flights of unbridled creativity while enjoying a cup of tea with scones. Anything that drags your inner child out and forces them to enjoy themselves while growing into the world.

Dreams

Tabitha:  Making the world a better place for my neice by promoting and encouraging the kind of world where she can be president someday;)...or whatever else she wants.

Shauna: To travel around the world and be able experience and [to try to] understand the various aspects of cultures. To teach and challenge others, including myself. To spread the joys of art and childishness far and wide.

Music

Tabitha:  Everything- that DOES include country, folk, hindi, classical and metal.

Shauna:  Largely rock and classical. I try to listen to various other kinds across different languages, but nothing beats Beethoven, Nine Inch Nails, Mozart, Rimsky-Korsakov, The Mars Volta, and Tool .

Movies

Tabitha:  I could list about 3 million, but I'll just say Devdas, for now.

Shauna:  In order to save space, streamlining the all time favourites: Alice in Wonderland, Casshern, Devdas, Lilo and Stitch, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and The Suicide Club.

People

Tabitha:  Everyone in this group, Gandhi, Bob Marley, many others.

Shauna: All of my friends for they each breathe life into this place. In addition to the many that adore; Gandhi, Chomsky, T.R., and Einstein.

Places

Tabitha: NYC, London, India, Egypt

Shauna: Aruba and Hawaii. I'd go anywhere so long as the world knows that my soul belongs to the ocean, so let's not limit ourselves.

Hey, Wouldn't you like to put a stop to cancer? Vote for my blogs on, "Where I Want to Work" and help fight against cancer. If I win the scholarship I will be using the money to attend medical school. Let me know if you vote for my campaign, and then you can depend on me for support anytime.

Thanks,
Ethan
