Art has been an obsession of mine since I could first hold a crayon. When I was a little girl, I loved to draw. Because of my innate love of the arts, I always figured I must have inherited some of my mother’s artistic ability and appreciation. She continues to support me as I follow my dreams of pursuing a career in the arts, but as I have matured, my appreciation, skill, and passion has become entirely a part of my own personality.
I love art in general, but my specific and first love is graphic and web design. When I was 11 years old, I started to develop an interest in technology and from them on, I taught myself HTML. I was fascinated by how every little piece of code, inert words, could create every intricate and wonderful thing displayed on the screen. My interest only grew over time, and after pursuing my school’s course of study in web design, I was proud to receive and academic award of excellence in recognition of my efforts. I suppose the greatest facet of my passion for web design has always been that it combines everything I love about the arts into one discipline.
Additionally, I have always had an interest in Photography. When I was fourteen, my interest in photography was kindled by the thought of new opportunities to try something new, and following the model of my success with HTML, I bought books and spent countless hours teaching myself the ways of using the camera, and learning to see photographs and compositions before they are taken. After working extensively with two film cameras, I became exposed to digital photography and the wonderful opportunities of editing programs like Adobe Photoshop. Soon afterward, I worked hard saving for a digital SLR camera, so that I could meld my interests of photography and computer graphics together in digital media. Thus, I would like to spend my future working with all of these things, and eventually obtaining a job involving Graphic Design and Digital Photography would be a dream come true. I am dedicated to my passions and determined to unlock my full artistic potential.
