I am a 26 year old married, mother of three children. I attend the University of Memphis full time. I moved to Memphis from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina blew us up here. I am a white woman married to a black man with 3 bi-racial children. It is not as accepted here in Memphis as it is in New Orleans. It is definitely different here in Memphis, we miss our New Orleans food!!

I love to sew, read, and swim. I love spending time with my kids, for the most part, until they drive me insane!! I am going to school in hopes of becoming a nurse.

i was just thinking that i need a shrimp poboy fix!!! slowly but surely i am assimilating into louisiana culture. i had to go buy a black and gold outfilt for today since the first pre-season game is sunday. and i don't even care about football! but i will happlily support the spirit of the community and help generate enthusiasm. we were lucky with our house (we live in covington) but soooo many others i know were not. it's been a slow time coming back and there are still areas (9th ward, lakeview, chalmette, etc.) that remain bleak and empty:(

hey i can mail you some crystal sauce if you need it! i hear ya on the food - i moved here seven years ago because my husband is from here. i used some yogurt whip butter substitute and quickly found out that butter rules. that's all we use now:) i make a mean mean crawfish monica - omg it is sooo good! tasty with shrimp too:) hope you have a great week, selena!!!
