I enjoy reading for pleasure, but I don't get very much time to do so. Fortunately I choose classes that I find interesting and the readings are generally entertaining. I love learning new things and seeing the world in new ways. I am interested in teachers, teaching, and teaching methods and styles. I find space to be incredibly fascinating. I think we should explore the sea before we do much more space exploration. I love food. I like trying new things. I love challenges.

I want to be an elementary school teacher- probably third grade. I want to be an inspiration and raise expectations and standards. I want creativity in classrooms. I want worksheets and scantrons to be few and far between. I dream of an education system that supports students and encourages them to strive for success in whatever they want to do. I dream of an education system that fosters cultural understanding and awareness so our students can succeed in the global society that is quickly emerging. Our future world leaders are playing with blocks, trucks, and dolls right now and I want to be part of their growth and transformation into understanding, passionate, and successful individuals.

Eclectic would probably best describe my music taste. My favorites are XTC, They Might Be Giants, The Flaming Lips, Barenaked Ladies, Weird Al, and Ella Fitzgerald. I'm open to mostly everything. Experience says I largely do not like Rap.
