General
I have a loving husband, Stephen, and two wonderful children, Meghan and Matthew. Meghan is a sophomore in college and Matt is a junior in high school. Rounding off our brood are two mini dachshunds, three cats, and two fish. We are proud to be a military family, serving in the nuclear submarine community. We recently moved to Virginia after spending 18 of the past 20 years in Washington state.
I enjoy music, baseball, traveling, big cities, small towns, shopping, dueling piano bars, live theatre, improv comedy, Starbucks, Mexican food, sushi, fine dining, mani-pedis, ice cold Corona with lime, margaritas, martinis, and a fine red wine.
 Music
I enjoy all music aside from most heavy metal, some country, that opera singer from Italy that my father listens to, and ALL rap. I would say if you understand the lyrics and can sing to it, I like it! I proudly admit to enjoying showtunes, 70's bubblegum pop and disco, and 80's new wave. My iPod is filled with it. However, classic rock is my favorite! Queen with Freddie Mercury rules and I wish I could have seen them perform live.
In 1983, I had the pleasure of working with Randy Newman in his "I Love LA" video. Check it out. It's a great song and a classic music video!
 Movies
Movies are an outlet for me so I don't get too much in to the deep thinking ones or 3 1/2 hour epics. I enjoy musicals, comedies, chick flicks, and scary movies. My remote control always stops for a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Wedding Singer.
My DVR records Gilmore Girls, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, LOST, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, My Name is Earl, and Supernatural.
 People
I have been blessed with the best family anyone could ever hope to have. My husband and I have been married almost 21 years and it just keeps getting better. Our beautiful and talented children continue to make us proud every day. There's my parents and grandma who have loved and supported me in everything I do, my sister, Victoria, who is not just my little sis but my best friend, her husband, Jim, who is a great brother-in-law and their two boys, Tyler and Connor, whom I love as much as if they were my own. I am Godmother and honorary "aunt" to TJ. And then there is Deb...my best girlfriend of 35 years (weren't we just playing Barbies, listening to Donny and Shaun, and playing ding-dong ditchum on Laurel Ave.?!)... LYLAS!
 Places
I grew up in Cypress, California or "the OC", as people like to refer to it now. We never did. That's SO Hollywood. I worked in Los Angeles for three years before marrying and moving to Washington state in 1986. In 1994, we moved to Hawaii where we spent two years before moving back to Washington. This summer, we made a cross country move to Virginia. It is a beautiful area with much to see and do, although I miss my family in WA a lot!
I enjoy road trips and experiencing the beautiful country we live in. I have now been to all four corners of the US (if you don't count Alaska) and many states in between. Although very different in geography, architecture, history, and culture, I have enjoyed it all! I love everything from the quaint midwest towns to the bright lights and excitement of the big cities. I love Chicago and Seattle and, yes, I do love LA (minus the likes of Paris Hilton and Brandon Davis)! I'm finally visiting New York City this fall and can't wait. My travels have taken me outside of the US to Vancouver and Victoria, Canada (very nice), Tijuana (ick!), and Hawaii (oh wait, that's not a foreign country). I hope to visit Europe, particularly London and Paris (cheese and wine = heaven) as well as take an Alaskan cruise.
