My dream has always been to study abroad to gain knowledge and experience and to learn about other cultures outside America. i was all set to study in the South of France for my junior year of college, when in May 2008, during my final steps for leaving, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. For now, my dreams would have to wait. To this day, I don't go to sleep without thinking what my life would be like if I was in France right now. But I also think about the perceptions I have gained on life and what my future has to hold. I can now confidently go to sleep thinking that when I finally do make it to France, I will look back on this disease as not something that held me back from my dreams, but as something that made me want to reach for them even more.
